"While most mainstream news outlets are blaming the British riots on random thuggery, they are really an outgrowth of bad economic conditions and governments’ poor response to the financial crisis."

David Cameron finally managed his knee-jerk reaction today, 4 days late, suggesting that he may abondon the rule of law and sanction water cannoning children. Labour are political point scoring by claiming this is a result of govt cuts - while ignoring the fact that it's the New Labour generation of kids that are rioting. Anybody sensible or with a knowledge of what's actually going on in these communities is being drowned out by total cunts like Kelvin Mckenzie. Par for the course.

Is *this* the event that sparked off the initial Tottenham riots?
A 16 year old girl at the Police Protest for answers to Mark Duggan's shooting is seemingly ‘dealt with’ aggressively by the Police...

Panic on the streets of London: Speculations circle as to why the London riots have become so big, but the answer is quite obvious.
The violence on the streets is being dismissed as "pure criminality", as the work of a "violent minority", as "opportunism". This is madly insufficient. It is no way to talk about viral civil unrest. Angry young people with nothing to do and little to lose are turning on their own communities, and they cannot be stopped, and they know it. Tonight, in one of the greatest cities in the world, society is ripping itself apart.
Violence is rarely mindless. The politics of a burning building, a smashed-in shop or a young man shot by police may be obscured even to those who lit the rags or fired the gun, but the politics are there. Unquestionably there is far, far more to these riots than the death of Mark Duggan, whose shooting sparked off the unrest on Saturday when two police cars were set alight after a five-hour vigil at Tottenham police station.

Where Does London Go From Here?

- at this shit....or shite.stoplying
- well i don't fully agree with the use of 'rarely' in this statement but point being is that this is not really fully mindless********

It's a convenient fiction that riots like London, Vancouver and Toronto – the ones that aren't obviously motivated by state violence or desire for democratic reform (the Arab Spring, ongoing) – are completely baseless and spring from nowhere. But they aren't. You can't leave a generation to fend for itself and show it an endless parade celebrities/the rich/politicians committing crimes without punishment and then complain when their lack of communities values and respect for rights bubbles to the surface in the form of violence and vandalism and looting.
- initially they blamed the vancouver riot on a small, known group of no good troublemakers...prophetone
- as it unfolded though it became clear it was mostly a bunch of idiots and spoiled brats...prophetone

The worst thing about these riots is that there are, and will be plenty more, legitimate reasons for protest. These fucking lowlifes are making it easier for the authorities to be heavy handed in next time.
Things haven't even got bad yet.

- The cunts looting haven't got a clue about the banking mafia.SteveZissou
- And it's not them who are paying the banksters gambling debts either.SteveZissou
