Thinking about investing the $380 to get these 1-piece full grain leather boots that can be resoled many times. Can last 10+years if treated well. Waterproof for hiking. Anybody have any experience with this kind of thing? I was looking to see other brands doing a similar design and it seems like Danner is the only game in town...
- I'd love those if the sole wasn't quite so much wider than the rest of the boot. Looks a bit odd. I see why they're like that, but..Nairn
- Oh you fuck. Thanks. I think I've found my next pair of boots.
https://global.danne…Nairn - Sole looks a bit shit though. I don't mean aesthetically, I just think it's one of Vibram's poorer ones.Nairn
- Sole looks deep and likely non-cavitated, and probably replaceable. Damn you, sarahfailin!Nairn
- Sorry, don't mind me, I'm just flip-flopping and talking myself into a future purchase here. Move along. Move along.Nairn
- Yup. 'Thanks'. That's fucking £280 going to some Yankee Doodle Dandy in 18+ months. These are my next boot. Unless I see something better.Nairn
- Sorry, £296 + delivery.
Fuck you, sarahfailin.Nairn - I've had a pair for about 7-8 years. They're much lighter than you'd expect. They gave me blisters for the first few months. Rubbed leather conditioner...fooler
- ...in the heal for a few days and they molded to my foot. The sole is very soft. So soft I melted it by the campfire. I think Ill get them resoled next year.fooler
- Looks like specialty shoes for people with a club foot...jagara

I've had a pair of these for about 10 years and they're still going strong:
http://www.clarks.co.uk/find/Bra…- Yeah, you really can't overstate the durability of Clarks. Barring the possible crepe-sole replacement.BRNK
- i love my clarks. beastly.baseline_shift

bought these a few weeks ago but the gave me a blister so I returned them with Red Wings very liberal return policy.
She recommended these that look similar but built more like a casual shoe (more comfortable) plus they were cheaper and she discounted me another 10% for my troubles.
I guess Red Wings are guaranteed for life. I saw men returning boots that looked like they went top war in and returned for a brand new pair.- opinion? are they to nerdy old manish? I just need a water proof boot for Portland winters.fooler2
- get the sundowners above. gore tex lining. vibram soles. will last 12+years easy. i still have mine i got in '96.johndiggity
- I have a pair of Vasque hikers and that super comfy but 2 beat up to wear to workfooler2
- johndiggity your lucky to have an italian pair, they make them in china now and the quality is very bad nowset
- check the net its writhe with unhappy customers complaining of terrible quality since they switched to chinese factoriesset
- You gave up on them too soon. They take some time to break in, but well worth it.technikiller
