i love how full-on some athiests become. almost like they've made a religion / belief structure out of being athiest.
also, if you're an athiest yet celebrate xmas in any way at all. i love you. awesomeness.
- dude, jesus is the LAST THING on most people's minds at christmas.epigraph
- Actually, Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity. It's an old pagan festival (solstice)..Lillebo
- http://en.wikipedia.…Lillebo
- Well, not only on Christmas...ItalianStallion
- 1) I love the fact you use wikipedia to quote from. Laughable source.
2) CHRIST-mas was merged with a pagon festival to try to convert them in the dark ages, but CHRIST-mas is still a CHRIST-ian festival.
3) I love you,beast08 - with a pagon festival but only to try and convert athiests. CHRIST-mas is still a CHRIST-ian festival.beast08
- i like the way the romans celebrated that time of the year, lots of food and drinksflyingnowhere
- beast08 are you serious? are you totally ignorant of history?spifflink
- if you are a christian and you celebrate xmas, I also love you.
Awesomeness!Meeklo
- airey0

I can't stop looking at the woman and that "play" button over her mouth. It seems appropriate.

Funny, but not “ha ha” funny.

It's kind of like how some people (usually Liberals) think you shouldn't say, "Merry Christmas". Some things are taken too far. Let people enjoy their holiday.
- well dont assume everyone is a christian. keep your religion to yourself...iCanHazQBN
- i will not be offended if you dont say merry christmas to me.iCanHazQBN
- There IS a reason behind Christmas.Jaline
- I'm talking about political correctness and how even the school system is trying to say that "Merry Christmas" is too religiousJaline
- religious to say out loud to people.Jaline
- if someone at the register of a grocery store said happy hannukah to you as u were walking out....iCanHazQBN
- ...would you think that was strange?iCanHazQBN
- It is a bit strange, yes. I wouldn't mind it at all though. The people I know who are too PC think non-Christians are offendedJaline
- by anyone saying "Merry Christmas", so they are out to change things. This belief is, in my opinion, unwarranted.Jaline
- the only reason i'm not offended is because i realize americans are ignorant and think everyone is a christian.iCanHazQBN
- Lol, agreed :DLillebo
- No we don't. Have a bite of another stereotype. I agree 200% with Jaline.gramme
- If people actually get offended by "Merry Christmas", they need to chill the f@#% out and get off their high horses.gramme
- Yes....Chill the FUCK out. How do you handle life for shits sake getting offended at EVERYTHING?marychain
- Have a coke and a smile and STFU! You could tell me happy Kwanza, Ramadan or Satan's Briss....marychain
- if I don't celebrate it...I'm just going to smile politely and walk on. WTF is so hard about that?marychain
- I think that people that raise a stink about some BS wouldn't be Liberal.lifterBARON
- It's slightly askew to refer to someone with strong beliefs as that to be so Liberal.lifterBARON
- BonSeff0
i love how "athiests" is a general term. i feel so corralled //
- go home atheist!KwesiJ
- The funny thing about people who don't believe in God and are called atheists etc..lifterBARON
- Is that when you ask, you find out 2/3 of the room is one. Down with outward religious views.lifterBARON

"THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE THE COONNNTTRRROOLLLL!.. NOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo!"
- ukit0
Oh, I dunno. These people on Fox are idiots. Every year they find one or two examples of people trying to "declare war on Christmas" or some such.
When you think about it, there are millions of people who don't believe in God who participate in and enjoy spending time with their family etc over the holidays. Just imagine millions of Christians being laid back enough to take part in a foreign religious holiday that wasn't part of their religion every year and it sort of shows you who the tolerant/ intolerant ones are.
- Agreed. But it happens on both sides. Things are too PC at times.Jaline
- iCanHazQBN0
I OFFICIALLY DECLARE WAR ON CHRISTMAS. It begins NOW.
- Let's fire bomb the North Poleukit
- FUCK YEAH!. now THATs global warming.iCanHazQBN
- Get outta here.Jaline
- yeah, jaline.. lets get outta this joint.iCanHazQBN
- iCanHazQBN0
But really, since when has christmas ever been about religion? Shouldn't we all be camping outside of Best Buy for a 12% discount on a Magnavox?

I'm an atheist, and I 'celebrate Christmas'. What of it, airey? It's an institutionalised holiday - neither myself nor my family celebrate the Christian aspect at all. We have a tree, we have food and presents and decoration and adornments - none of it Christian. It's the dark end of the year - it makes perfect sense to have a celebration then. Doesn't need to have a religious aspect.
I like the imagery of the nativity scene - it's part of my culture's folklore (bizarrely, it being a supposed middle eastern event, two thousand years ago. Quite what it's got to do with Britain, I don't know).
I think it's absolutely reprehensible for a major network to criticise a 'belief group' - I'd not really accept it if they were targeting Christians or Muslims (even if I personally do feel that way).
How can they get away with this?
- Oh, here we go! Grabs bag of festive candy canes and egg-nog.MrOneHundred
- My apologies, I took airey seriously in his initial post.Nairn
- * puts candy and egg-nog backMrOneHundred

nevermind that it is ALL ABOUT THE CHOICE
nope- them libs wanna kill babies

If you think about it Christmas is a really old-world, pagan kind of tradition at its core. It's all about gathering up a bunch of stuff (back then, crops and food, now DVD players and other useless shit) to make it through the winter and celebrating the "rebirth" of the year.
- airey0
is santa a christian? if not there must be some awkward conversations sometimes...
- Satan's Christian...Nairn
- So's Bush, what does that tell you?beast08
- mm, no... Satan is the complete antithesis to Christianity. *whistles, scratches headgramme
- And Bush is just one man, who is far from perfect. So that doesn't really say anything at all about Christianity.gramme
- but wouldn't satan still recognize the significance of jesus?spifflink
- Christianity and Christmas are a collection of beliefs. And are now represented by a bunch of fucks.lifterBARON
- Pagan, Muslim, Buddhist etc.. even drunken stories about child baring virgins.lifterBARON
- iCanHazQBN0
HEY LADY... if your parents hadn't immigrated from China to America (jesusland), you'd be worshipping Buddha right now, you self-righteous, ignorant bitch.
- and happy holidays.iCanHazQBN
- Buddism isn't a religion.beast08

I really dig the Asian chick's mad eyes over the YouTube play sign.
That's something else I've never understood - Oriental Christians.
I mean.. how? why? when? It's just too much for my little brain to take in.
