I'm an atheist, and I 'celebrate Christmas'. What of it, airey? It's an institutionalised holiday - neither myself nor my family celebrate the Christian aspect at all. We have a tree, we have food and presents and decoration and adornments - none of it Christian. It's the dark end of the year - it makes perfect sense to have a celebration then. Doesn't need to have a religious aspect.
I like the imagery of the nativity scene - it's part of my culture's folklore (bizarrely, it being a supposed middle eastern event, two thousand years ago. Quite what it's got to do with Britain, I don't know).
I think it's absolutely reprehensible for a major network to criticise a 'belief group' - I'd not really accept it if they were targeting Christians or Muslims (even if I personally do feel that way).
How can they get away with this?
