I just don't see myself preparing a hearty breakfast or 6 meals a day (although I do know I should...) but in time I might gradually build up to that.
Thoughts?

(Jan 4 07, 09:15)I don't prepare that crap daily either. We have two cooking days at the house. Sundays and Wednesdays. We'll cook all our chicken, turkey whatever, pasta rice. All of it on one day and put them in glad bins for the week.
Whatever meals I need I put them aside the night before. makes things easier the next morning.
And trust me, I do NOT eat 100% healthy. I try and incorporate some healthy alternatives into my plan. Chicken salads at panera, wraps from subway, turkey sammiches on wheat from jimmy johns.
No one is perfect with eating. Don't try to be, it will never work.
Most of the stuff I think we're planning on putting up there is for beginners to intermediate. The advanced people already for the most part know what they're doing.
HOpe this all helps.

kona, will you have anything about the vitamins/minerals side? Like I saw a post above that mentioned Glucosamine for the joints. A list of supporting suppliments would be cool...

uh guys, all I know is that my diet and workouts this week have been kickin mad ass. I weighed in at the gym at 236 on Monday. I'm predicting that I weigh in at 232 this coming Monday... yeah, predicting a 4lbs. loss within a week is a little ballsy, but for me, that first week is always a big week, then it gets tough right around week 3.
Thanks for the inspiration guys.

(Jan 4 07, 09:27)It is, but I think it's doable. I started my 07 get fit campaign a couple days before the new year, and this morning weighed in 3.5lbs lighter. It'll be a week tomorrow.
Oh, and in response to k0na's last post...mmmmmm...Jimmy Johns...drooooooool...

my gf is a nutritionist, she works with the government to help set standards etc.
She and I don't eat super healthy but once you know what the different food groups do, it's pretty obvious what not to eat and when to eat other things.
looking at what's on your plate and anylising it becomes second nature, so you can keep in check.
There's no way I'd have time to be doing the whole 6 meals a day, I do tend to split up meals into sections though because I don't like the feeling of being really full, so i guess I probably do eat quite small meals and a few more of them each day.
Oh well, off down to the gym tonight, I already went on tuesday and last night did some simple floor excercises at home. Easing myself back to where I was before xmas. this whole thread is helping me motivate myself, thanks guys.

Haha, I can just see Justin kind of throwing his hands up in the air a bit when he sees everyone continuing to use the thread as opposed to the site, hehe.

I busted my ass extra special like last night and ran into multiple 'New Year's Resolution' people that will be in and out of my usual gym within a week to two.

There's tons of books on the "zone diet" technique. Just read one and like people are saying here, it becomes second nature. My wife and I basically invented our own diet based on South Beach and RF detox diet.

I remember this time last year I decided to sign up to our free gym at work and I was determined to see it through. The place was packed until early february and then it tailed off, everyone gave up but I continued through the whole year and I'm back again for my second year.
In the past year I've only had 1 sick day and have felt so much better health wise than I had previously, it really does make a difference.

Been reading a few posts here and there...just wanted to say i'm down.
also..k0na..a while back you said that vitamins should always be taken in capsule form. any reason for that? i use emergen-C everyday and it works great.
