Holy shit... I came out on top!
First thing this morning the new partner calls me into a quick private meeting and started it with: "We're going to make you whole..."
He then proceeded to add to my vacation time too... he realizes now that I worked while out of town and thinks I deserve at least one more week off before the year is out... lol... okay... done!
So... Next pay period I'm supposed to have a normal check along w/the 1/2 he snaked from last pay period and I have to take another week off in December (cuz it's gotta be by EOY... works for me). :)

Opinions?
I'm currently contracting for a company with good life benefits. I can work from home twice a week, there's a gym in the building, the work is easy - but unfulfilling, I generally like whom I'm working with... but my boss and I don't see eye-to-eye. In the D.I.S.C. management system, she's a strong C while I'm a strong I. We're opposites and I know at times my creative thinking drives her crazy.
I have a potential opportunity with another company. Full-time. Work from home. 25k more in pay. But, travel could be up to 1 week per month. I'm a family man and I don't know if I can put that stress on my family. Our current schedule is rather rigid and would be near impossible to change. My wife leaves early for work and I get the kids ready and off to school. The work would be great and I think I could really do well working from home but fuck, I keep getting hung up on the travel.
I have it easy where I'm at and they're offering me a role way less than what I'm making as a contractor. In fact, it's the least amount of money I've made since 2009.
In a way it feels wrong to consider it, especially because I think my boss hates me. If I accept it though I'd really have to shut the part of my brain off that wants to design what's right, and instead, kiss my boss' ass and do more of what she likes (which is awful).
Any insight?

Just got home, parked my car in the garage and approaching the elevator where three people are standing with their luggage in tow.
I'm a bit behind carrying several bags of groceries and start moving quickly to the elevator as the three get on. They all saw me, including the last woman on and they continue with their conversation as the door closes in front of me as though I wasn't there.
There have never been circumstances in my life that would have kept me from the smallest gesture of holding an elevator door for someone running up to it with their hands full.

Anyone sew leather? Do I really need an industrial machine?
- What thickness and how long do you need to sew? For small jobs on thicker leather you can pre-hole and then thread your needle through.Nairn

Leica Gallery Frankfurt invited me for a book signing. So I will be there this Saturday from 2 - 5 pm. Hopefully there will be some people showing up.
It's the first time, I do such a book signing event. Years ago, I would have been nervous. Now, I am looking forward. But only if at least five people will be coming.

Started a challenge for December that consists in waking up at 4:30 every day. The purpose is to change my routine for 2019 and start the new year with a "can do" attitude and get shit done earlier.
I managed to be up by 5:00 AM this morning and in 2.5 hours I did most of the work I was going to tackle on this day, lol. The difference when you have no interruptions and a peaceful setting to be fully immersed in your work!!!
