Started a challenge for December that consists in waking up at 4:30 every day. The purpose is to change my routine for 2019 and start the new year with a "can do" attitude and get shit done earlier.

I managed to be up by 5:00 AM this morning and in 2.5 hours I did most of the work I was going to tackle on this day, lol. The difference when you have no interruptions and a peaceful setting to be fully immersed in your work!!!

    • I'm divorced with no kids and would usually wake up around 7:00-7:30Maaku
    • I have no wife, no kids, and would usually wake up around when i want :)sted
    • Maaku I did this a decade ago, when i was up at 5 i was useless until 6:30-7. then started to wake up at 4, surprisingly i was more productive than ever.sted
    • the only reason I get up before 5am is because I have a kidmonospaced
    • ^ lol, and @sted it's only the beginning but I like how productive it's been and I don't feel tired.Maaku
    • And you go to sleep at what time? I guess you're super tired around 8PM right?Bennn
    • I still stay up to 11pm or so.monospaced
    • 4:30 - 8:30 is my most productive time. Also a great time for a run.wordssssss

    • i would get tired around 6pm, although its more than fair when starting at 4.30. its must be v dark outside at this time, and very silent. have to try itapi
    • I was getting up at 5. Now the kids are getting older they go to bed later and sleep longer. And now we home school, so they don’t get up till about 9. So theRumperChunk
    • Only time I get alone with my wife is much later - we don’t go to bed until about 1am. Sucks donkey balls. Prefer early mornings.RumperChunk

    • Just be aware that researchers now believe that not getting enough sleep for extended periods is a reason for getting Alzheimer later in life.Nutter
    • They recommend at least 7 hours sleep, and have seen that people generally perform better after 8 hous sleep.Nutter
