do i keep on trying to tell her how much i need her, or do i let her go and see if she comes back? i don't know which is harder...

    • trying to get a response, or possibly not getting onesine
    • the harder you try, the more she feels she's won. find another girl to fuck & wait for the phone to ringalbums

Glad to not see "Kill it of the Day" on the first page. As curious as I am to see what is new, I don't look in there anymore, the first two pages were enough.

This article about the irish slave trade has been knocking about this week, may have to get this book...

"Many people today will avoid calling the Irish slaves what they truly were: Slaves. They’ll come up with terms like “Indentured Servants” to describe what occurred to the Irish. However, in most cases from the 17th and 18th centuries, Irish slaves were nothing more than human cattle.

As an example, the African slave trade was just beginning during this same period. It is well recorded that African slaves, not tainted with the stain of the hated Catholic theology and more expensive to purchase, were often treated far better than their Irish counterparts.

African slaves were very expensive during the late 1600s (50 Sterling). Irish slaves came cheap (no more than 5 Sterling). If a planter whipped or branded or beat an Irish slave to death, it was never a crime. A death was a monetary setback, but far cheaper than killing a more expensive African. The English masters quickly began breeding the Irish women for both their own personal pleasure and for greater profit. Children of slaves were themselves slaves, which increased the size of the master’s free workforce. Even if an Irish woman somehow obtained her freedom, her kids would remain slaves of her master. Thus, Irish moms, even with this new found emancipation, would seldom abandon their kids and would remain in servitude.

In time, the English thought of a better way to use these women (in many cases, girls as young as 12) to increase their market share: The settlers began to breed Irish women and girls with African men to produce slaves with a distinct complexion. These new “mulatto” slaves brought a higher price than Irish livestock and, likewise, enabled the settlers to save money rather than purchase new African slaves. This practice of interbreeding Irish females with African men went on for several decades and was so widespread that, in 1681, legislation was passed “forbidding the practice of mating Irish slave women to African slave men for the purpose of producing slaves for sale.” In short, it was stopped only because it interfered with the profits of a large slave transport company.

England continued to ship tens of thousands of Irish slaves for more than a century. Records state that, after the 1798 Irish Rebellion, thousands of Irish slaves were sold to both America and Australia. There were horrible abuses of both African and Irish captives. One British ship even dumped 1,302 slaves into the Atlantic Ocean so that the crew would have plenty of food to eat."

The lady and I walked into a theater to watch whatever was playing next last night and caught 48 Hours with Paul Walker having no idea what it was about.

(disclaimer: as a general rule of thumb, I'm overly emotional)

I was ready to cry in the first 5 minutes (could be I was with a woman I love, whom I've been apart from too long), but this story just plops you right into the middle of this man's problems. It's slow for the first half as his reality sets into both himself and the audience. Then as more adversity begins, you fear for every moment he has to make a decision.

The last third / quarter of the movie tests his will and conviction. Watching the relationship strengthen as he does everything he can to endure these hardships, you get caught up with him, some fucked up shit happens as he tries everything possible to get out.

It's tragically heartwarming, inspiring, and scary (in an actual relatable reality kind of way).

    -

There's no way I'll ever experience that movie again the way I did last night, so I suggest not knowing anything about it before watching it, if you want to see how far a man will go to protect someone he loves.

(I tried to be as vague as possible, sorry if I wasn't)

    • Searched and found "Hours", never heard of it before. Now it's a must see. Thanks :DZOOP

saw a dentist today for the first time in an embarrassingly long time. was quite anxious, 'cause i know there's some issues, but he was cool. got some serious procedures lined up though. surgical extraction of both wisdom teeth, and a couple of fillings. no caps and not losing any teeth thankfully, but not looking forward to the surgery...

    • I've been there. Good luck on the surgeries, relax & breathe. Let your newfound oral health help ease your anxiety.albums
    • yep. it's gonna be shit for a couple of days, but i'm finally getting it done and can stop worrying about it.sine

I lost two very important people yesterday. On Wednesday morning my step father found my mother in bed with no pulse and not breathing. He performed CPR and the EMT's came. She's been in the hospital all week and the neurologist declared her brain dead on Friday night. Protocol dictates a second exam within at least 6 hours so on Sat morning it was confirmed. All family flew in and we removed her ventillator at 1pm yesterday - she passed in peace, in no pain, at the age of 75.

At midnight last night a good friend, who I hadn't heard from in awhile called - thinking it was random I spoke with him and told him of my loss. Just this morning another friend messaged me that my good friend had also passed in a horrible car accident on Sat in the Connecticut snow. He was a dear friend who I worked with and went to school with, he was only 36. I called the first buddy today who told me that he didn't have the heart to tell me about my friend on the same day that my Mom passed.

We don't own our lives, these are gifts that we lease and have to turn in at some point. Tell your loved ones what's on your mind, be honest, and be truthful. I called/texted my buddy yesterday about my Mom and thought it was strange he didn't respond b/c we always talk. Now I want to tell my Mom about his passing and want to tell him about hers - shit sucks.

so yesterday i brought my dogs to the beach, while im swimming with my dogs, a cute tourist chick in a bikini is walking alone on the beach but stops on the beach where im at and starts walking out to where im swimming with my dogs, there's no one else in sight, so I know shes coming right at me. she asks "can I swim with you?"
    "yeah thats cool" I replied
so shortly after I offer her a beer i have at the truck thats parked right there on the beach, shes down, cool.
so were rappin for an hour or so when I say, "wanna come with me to pick up some cigarettes?"
    "yes" she replied, "cool"
so I put my wet pittbull in the bed of the truck while my other female Rot wants to get in the cab, and I yelled out "bitch your getting in the back" when the girl replied "Ok"
"no i was talking to my dog!"
    poor girl.
