That's like an old story about William Faulkner, the writer. He went to Hollywood to make some good coin, and got a writing job at a studio.
Goes in the first day, Studio Head says, "Bill, read this book, and then write a treatment."
Faulkner reads the book before lunch. After lunch he writes the treatment. Turns it into the Studio Head. Goes home.
Comes in next morning, and all the other writers are waiting for him. He asks what the problem is. One of the writers comes forward and says, "Bill, we got a problem here. Now us guys, we've worked real hard on this setup. We've got mortgages, and children, and cars to pay for, and we can't have somebody come in and mess that up. I'm in the hospital for 2 weeks while I undergo a trial kidney surgery.
Finding the project I've spent 4 months on is slipping away under the executional guidance of others.Do you guys think that - being designers - delegation (of things you care about) is particularly hard? I know people in other fields who are pros at it - but in all those fields, there are standards and protocols of execution.
With design and development there's just so much damn subjectivity. Even when I specify that something needs to be pixel-for-pixel, the dev people always find some argument to justify some shitty short-cut.

I know quite a few people who turned their hobbies into prosperous businesses. I know people who live comfortably on passive income from their online ventures.
Even the board you're procrastinating on allowed its owner to become and stay a 1-percenter.
Stop counting other people's money (sorry I just did that myself, guilty, huh) and build something.
