Ok, here is about as simple a scene as possible that uses an external compositing tag (on the sphere). The grid array is only there for have something to look at. I turned on the option for a solid, left everything else default except Children but that made no difference. When I import it into After Effects, the only thing that extracts is the Camera, no solid. This is what usually happens. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
- cant dl right now but not sure what is going wrong for you. if you highlight what you want and hit button mine exports fine but as nullwhere_am_i
- think if you want comp tag you have to import proj file like in the gifwhere_am_i

Bit of an update with some post work, just for kicks.
Tuned the lights a bit and blanked out the large, open, window to stop the whole thing being flooded with light. Got my glowing 'V' in, which turned out better than I hoped. Liked the green neon, but the Vickers paint job uses red so I swapped it out. Next up is to do something with the paving and finish the petrol pumps - I modelled some really nice lights but they are out of shot :/ Then add load of debris and probably some plants too.
- The red and neon are great. I love the mountains back there too. I'm also hearing Riders on the Storm by the Doors.CyBrainX

- Perfect! Now model some zombies. The rigging should be easy. Just do anything.CyBrainX

" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>I would have said using C4D for that animation is the best solution, but... since discovering Moho.. for a lot less money you can get Moho and do it much easier. Though moho has a bit of an amateur feel to it... it's surprising easier for 2D stuff than trying to utilize C4D

- That looks like After Effects with the puppet tool. I wouldn't use a 3D package for that.CyBrainX

For people who don't want to invest on an external renderer you can use Physical with purely reflectance based materials. You get the same physically based look. The render times can be high but the results are amazing.
This is a workflow not a lot of people know and if they did they would probably not spend the money for external renderers.
I want to make a tutorial about it but I keep postponing it because you know, procrastination...- Global Illumination is pretty good, but definitely time consuming to cast all the photons.nthkl

Vray is turning into a bastard shitpile monster, with a lot of effort producing middling results. A decent version of V3 is probably years away even though they are running a beta just now. To that end I am trying out new render engines.
Arnold seems to click with me instantly, producing sharp results out of the box with a good level of tinkering to make improvements - far more than Octane did (another replacement candidate).
Is anyone here using it, or has used it? Any pitfalls or things to look out for?
- I haven't used it, but I'm interested in this: https://twitter.com/…MrBixler
- ...also C4D's own GPU render collaboration with AMD looks interesting...MrBixler

I usually make a textures global folder, same as you, and then everyone working on it only has to link to the one folder

Question about Alpha Channels.
Do you guys know how to get rid of that thin pixel thick line of black when exporting an alpha channel?
I know you can adjust the alpha levels in photoshop and after effects, but it gets a little chunky on the aliasing. Wondering if there's a way to increase alpha channel anti aliasing in C4D first when rendering to the picture viewer.

Cineware for Illustrator. Sounds more like a plugin for people who don't use C4D but interesting...
- Yup, it's the future. This might be more relevant.

Newbie question on textures -
I'm trying out Arnold and have an ARNOLD SHADER NETWORK MATERIAL set up...
I want to bring this texture into ELEMENT 3D and drop on some simple geo...
Anyway to export the ARNOLD TEXTURE as a PNG -
Again - super new to this haha.

I changed default the setting to Keep Textures for Generating Instances and C4D decided to make all my current hair settings default. - including Render Hairs unchecked - also in the Generate tab.I don't mean changing a preference. I mean clicking on an attribute name in the Attribute Manager and going to Edit > Set at default...
How horrible. I'm booking a flight to Germany to blow up Maxon for this.
