    I changed default the setting to Keep Textures for Generating Instances and C4D decided to make all my current hair settings default. - including Render Hairs unchecked - also in the Generate tab.

    I don't mean changing a preference. I mean clicking on an attribute name in the Attribute Manager and going to Edit > Set at default...

    How horrible. I'm booking a flight to Germany to blow up Maxon for this.
