Is Trump even trying to address the COVID pandemic anymore?
It’s like they don’t even care, he would just rather hide away from the world. There has never been a president that is this bad at leading. It’s like non-leading.
He’s shouting about the election and people he doesn’t like on twitter and the post office!
SO MANY AMERICANS ARE DYING.
Trump is a total failure, as we all suspected he would be.

This UK doctors daily videos are well worth watching.
He's so clued up and presents all information in an easy to understand manner. He also gives a summary at the start of each video but then you can watch more if you want indepth info.- Aye, he's been posted here a few times since all this started - I know I watched a shit tonne after someone here shared him. Had my head in the sand since.Nairn
- Was watching back in Feb. Been sat at home since. Wearing mask when out. Now Autumn is upon us. Wish fucking work would confirm perm WFH so I can move.shapesalad
- ...Move out of sodding bore expensive London and buy myself a big old semi with massive garden up north.shapesalad
- So tired of my W LDN evening walks past endless Porsches, just as many Range Rovers, a few G-Class, Ferrari's, Jaguars and one Mclaren F1.shapesalad
- Nobody has a fucking normal car in W LDN. Just a bunch of rich show offs in their 10 ~ 25m houses a stone throw from where Jihadi John grew up.shapesalad
- Seriously developed a warped view of life spending the past 6 months in this neighbourhood. Normal = having a £10m+ house and several Porsches.shapesalad
- By the way, this guy in the vid, isn't a GP doctor, he's a highly qualified nurse, used to train nurses, doctor as in phd.shapesalad
- So.. better than a standard-issue medical doctor?Nairn
- The actual experts are probably far too busy right now to do a podcast. But he gives good information it seems.yuekit
- i work with pharmacists and senior nurses and as far as the interpretation of medical evidence is concerned they are top of the game...kingsteven
- i mean other than specialists. if someone is prescribed or receives the wrong treatment it's not the doctors that get struck off. they know their onions.kingsteven
- Aye, that's kind of where I was coming from - if someone's got the smarts to be a PhD Doctor AND a hands on Nurse, they're probbaly worth paying attention to.Nairn

Just for some context on the numbers....
Car crash fatalities in the USA in 2019:
38,800 totalCOVID fatalities in the USA in 2020
176,474 and going up.Will almost definitely be at 200,000 Dead by end of September. Biggest tragedy of our lifetimes. Too bad the president is a moronic sociopath.
- Another way to look at it: the CURRENT death rate equals about one 9/11 every three days.********
- But doesn’t common flu kill 500K Americans per year?NBQ00
- half a million? fucking what? it tops out at an estimated 60k annually.face_melter
- well, not annually, it has varied between 12k and 60k in the past 10 years.face_melter
- think it may be estimated at around 500k globallykingsteven
- no NBQfadein11
- A commonly parroted conservative talking point is conflating worldwide and national numbers. Is it stupid or intentional, who knows.garbage
- Things as stupid as what NBQ said are going unchecked in American media.garbage
- And I'm including Facebook in that, because that's where most people get their moron on.garbage
- That flu argument is so stupid whatever the numbers are. Because flu happens in addition to Covid, it's not either/or...it's both.BaskerviIle

- Please be respectful. Deathy is more educated than most.face_melter
- rationalising this as a % increase of deaths is nuts. it was a prediction of 2.2m deaths that put you in to lockdown and you didn't give a shit then either.kingsteven
- Everyone would be back at work by now except that we’ve had idiots like deathboy arguing “this isn’t a big deal” since day one.********

Covid is already the third biggest cause of death in the US this year. Only cancer and heart disease have killed more.
Covid has killed more Americans than ALL types of accidents combined. More than double that of diabetes. Over 4X the amount who die from flu or pneumonia. Over 4X the number of suicides.
Most of this was preventable. But these morons keep telling others that it’s no big deal. Sorry to post such sad facts. My heart aches for all who have lost their loved ones.

I keep hearing cases are increasing in Europe, is that because of the "reopening"? Cold weather is around the corner, is that going to be wave 2?

Fastest man alive tests positive for coronavirus
World-record sprinter and eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt is self-isolating at his home in Jamaica after last week celebrating his 34th birthday with a big bash mask-free

Ooh, fun - it sounds like the various muted forms of sars-cov-2 across the world are genetically fairly distinct, so we can catch two different types on the trot!
https://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2020/0…
Also implies that herd immunity and vaccines might not be quite so useful endgames. Joy!
. o O ( I wonder if that means you can catch two at the same time? what fun!)
Might not be absolute - seems like this is the first verifiable instance and even then it's not 100% AND spreads across two domains of Sars-2, but still.
