I slurred and mumbled a bunch of shit to DJ Quik at a Kangol event years back.
He told me he wished he was as drunk as I was.- Had I not been piss drunk, I probably wouldn't have said anything.duckseason

Edward Norton was right next to me at the her premiere. My gf was fanning out, but we didn't say hi or anything.

probably not, and i've seen quite a few celebrities out and about in Cape Town. i think that's part of the reason they come here. people don't bother them.
i've gone past Nicole Kidman on an escalator; saw Ralph Fiennes ambling around (looking very drunk or fucked). my dad and his wife had dinner in town a few years back and Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael "Cunnilingus" Douglas was sitting at the next table.
- we don't really have a paparazzi or big "celebrity" culturesine

I haven't said Hi to any people yet. Not so much because I didn't want to do it, but because I am pretty sure they are sick of people approaching them for a handshake or autograph.
So far I have ran into Billy Corgan walking with Matt Chamberlain, Elvis Costello, Alec Baldwin, Travis Barker, Ben Gillies, Bill Hader, Dallas Green, and a few others but thought I'd leave them alone.
I did kinda feel like insulting Mark Wahlberg because he was very arrogant and walking like he was the greatest thing that's happen to earth.

i've not had this happen much, but i guess, i'd treat them the way i'd hope to be treated were i in their shoes.

I was staying at the same hotel as Anthony Bourdain in Detroit last summer while he filmed his Parts Unknown episode there.
Sat a few seats away from him at the bar and I just ignored him. I'm a big fan, but I didn't want to bother him. People were walking in off the street to shake his hand right as he's about to eat his burger...nice. Then someone asked me to take a picture of them with Tony and I asked him if it was okay. He was chill but he's just a beer-drinking cheezburger eatin sonofabitch.- i love anthony, one person i would love to just hang out and drink with.sea_sea

I sat opposite DJ Shadow in a private lounge before a gig of his - just the two of us. I drank a bottle of lager, he a bottle of water. We said nothing to one another and barely exchanged a couple of non-commital looks.
He, because he's famous and wtfshouldhe? Me because although I liked his music at the time, I had fuck-all idea what he looked like, so this guy in the lounge was Just Some Dude to me.
By the time I saw him on stage afterwards I was fairly stoned so just laughed inwardly about when I realised.
Point being - looking back, I hope he presumed I knew who he was (I was at his gig, after all) and just thought I was being totally laid back and chill for just letting him be.
The conceit is —
for a second, perhaps DJ Shadow thought *I* was cool.- who?CygnusZero4
- DJ Shadow is a king.bainbridge

I was standing behind Taratino once at the KFC on Sunset. They would accept his debit card because he was using it as a credit card (or vice versa ...can't remember) He had no cash and looked really hung over. I offered to pay for his dinner. He thanked me. His wallet was the Bad Mutherfucker wallet. true story.

I've seen a good few famous people, Amy Winehouse lived near me and I've seen Nas, Kanye etc, but one person that sticks in my head was Britney Murphy. Because I didn't expect her to be sitting having a coffee outside a small cafe in London. She looked amazing and I almost walked into a lamp-post looking back. Shame she passed a couple years later.

My sister and I were seated behind Bruce Willis when we went and saw Avenue Q. During the intermission he kept making the air masturbation motion which I guess was referring to one of the songs in the show. I tried getting it on my phone but this was back when phones sucked and were useless at capturing situations like that because you had to press five buttons and do all kinds of UI shit and even then the res sucked. Anyway I think he saw me but then saw my sister with me and had this ashamed look on his face, like she was making the "how could you" face hahah. I don't know if he knew we were sitting behind him but I didn't see him after the show.

I was at an AIGA lecture in NYC about iPad publishing, and this bitch two rows ahead of us kept taking pictures of the slides on the screen with her cell phone, in a dark theater, using flash. Me and some other people told her to knock it off, and she turned around and it was Martha Stewart. Her team was presenting her iPad magazine. Still, she was being rude.

DMX was once playing pool and I was blocking his backshot with my spot at the bar. He was trying to drain the 8-ball... I moved and said "You got this shit." He scratched the cue ball and lost the game...

- Lol why would he give his name?CygnusZero4
