Dropped a whopping 1% body fat in 4 months :(

I am tired and feeling discouraged trying to reach that dream of sub 10% bf. This is so fucking hard. What my every day looks like is weights, abs, HIIT pretty much 6 times a week.

I have gone off keto and had to reverse diet to 2000 calories a day 130gr carbs, 65gr of fat and 150gr of protein. I am eating baked or cooked potatoes and chicken or salmon or talapia and it’s seriously getting to the point of ridiculous.

It’s like the body is fighting me so hard to lose those last 10lbs of fat. Like fuck you Boz, you will never get there you bitch.

I have been clean, no supplements even these past 3+ years because i always felt taking drugs or steroids or anything of sorts would be cheating and lying to myself but i am starting entertain the idea to use ephedrine to try to force the body to melt the remaining fat. It’s the most annoying fat to lose, around waist and a of chest fat.

Do you know anyone or have you read anything about ephedrine. At first i thought about taking clenbuterol as it is used by most body builders but that shit scares me with side effects and the possibility of your heart getting messed up.

Ephedrine seems like an FDA approved thermoge ic fat burner but legal and with no side effects.

I have been fat all my life and i will not stop until i reach my dream physique so i gotta find a way to break through this barrier and get some progress by my birthday in april.

    Current state of affairs

    • Maybe you need to mix up the gym work with some new forms of training? Some really intense cardio? The leanest I've ever been (approx 65 kg) involved...pedromendez
    • ...some insane cardio. Long endurance sessions mixed with short intense sessions. Fair play man - you're doing amazing! Forget the body fat % figure! :-)pedromendez

So have managed to make it most of January living better.. big part was cutting weed loose.. so no more late night mindless binge eating.. have cut out chocolate and most sweets, have the occasional ice block (but it’s summer here at 36degrees). Cut out Softdrinks nearly completely (have had 2 cokes since) and have been trying to get to bed before 10 each night.

Have lost a couple of kg, but given that nothing else has really changed in what I have been eating, it’s nice.

It’s funny tho, after 25 years dancing with Mary, it feels like a very old fog is finally lifting.

    Withdrawal is a bitch tho..

That said, we have been replacing it with sex, so .. win

    • The real test is once uni starts up again.. it’s easy to get to bed early when u don’t have papers due or marking to do. Hoping the clarity will at least makeautoflavour

    • just my 2 cents from struggle i am going through and previously not tracking. When i was huge it was easy to lose without tracking because the only way was downBoz
    • but as you start losing and get to a certain point tracking becomes a must to progress. So definitely try to get into habit of it.Boz

Are most running shoes at a slope? I was trying on these nike running shoes and the back was too high, and the front was very low. Any good running shoes without as much angle?

    • Look for running shoes with a low heel drop, 8mm or less. If you go to CrossFit type shoes, those are basically flat for lifting and balance.robotron3k

So, cutting out coke, chocolate and junk food in general.. eating only between 12pm-6pm (most days) and sleeping more I have lost 6kg since New Years so far.

Barely any exercise and what I have been eating hasn’t changed that much.. maybe less pizza, but the rest is the same.

Intermittent fasting works.. takes a week or so to get over the detoxing phase and cravings, but to be honest, it was only a few days of pain and once the caffeine headaches subsided, i was fine

Not bad for pretty much just adjusting diet

    • Lol.. appears short term memory hasn’t fully recovered.. I made this post a few weeks back.autoflavour
    • But yep, between 1 and 1.5kg weekly.. many weeks to go alas .. at least half a year in front of meautoflavour

1 year in San Diego has taken its toll on me with nearly zero exercise and access to a seemingly never ending supply of nearby breweries... I'm gittin' hitched in May and wasn't too keen on keeping the baby beer bump for the wedding. Started going to the gym 4 times a week in mid-January (heavy on cardio with weights mixed in) and moved to a much more strict diet, supplementing with a protein shake after workouts. So far I've gone from 172.4lbs on 1/16 to 157.8lbs today. I still have some fat around my stomach, love handles, moobs, and back of arms that I need to work on but have noticed a huge difference in a relatively short amount of time.

I'm pretty slim to begin with, which made the gut that much more noticeable even when sucking in. I think I may ease up on the cardio a bit and focus more on lifting in the last month or so leading up to the big day as I don't wanna be a twig swimming in my suit.

I've was previously relatively active whether it be riding a century, running a half marathon, hiking, lifting etc; however, I became suuuuper sedentary after moving out here from NYC and transitioning into a 100% remote role. It feels good to be active again and coming back down from the heaviest I've ever been.

    • Wish I could be out in SD, the running roads and trails out there must be amazing. Nice update + good on you... your heart'll thank you.notype
    • As dull and repetitive as it could get, I do miss the ease and convenience of doing laps around Central/Prospect park.duckseason

I’ve been busting my ass in the gym since August and being more strict than usual with my nutrition, and I’ve gone from 18.9% to 12.94% body fat from August 28th to February 22nd. I’m now doing a Bodybuilding.com training plan called Freak Mode for 12 weeks that was a nice balance of lean muscle gain and fat burning. It’s mostly in my abdominal area, but since August that number has gone from 33 to 18 with caliper measurement. Inner thigh measurement has gone from 22 to 13, and my upper thigh is at 9. It’s crazy to see how I can physically see how lean I’m getting and match that up those those measurements.

Went to Colorado for a snowboard trip two weeks ago and was in the best shape I’ve ever been. Went hard all four days, legs and core felt great and never felt weak or unsafe like I usually do after three days.

Can’t wait to see where I am in May; I feel like I’ve got that base set for actually achieving the “summer body” ripped physique I’d love to have. I’m 41 and it may sound vain but there’s something very motivating about being at our neighborhood pools amongst a plethora of dad bods and know I busted my ass to be in good shape.

    • Does your penis look longer? My dad dropped 75lbs and 18% of his body fat once and my mom said it made it look longer since the mons pubis had less fat.TheGreatGlorpo
