Anyone done it? My situation has become intolerable. Don't think I can survive 2 more weeks.
Not trying to get talked off the ledge...just wondering if anyone else had had a "fuck it...im out" moment

almost everyday.
Give them a crazy ultimatum, they usually go for it, if they don't, walk, you'll be happier.

oh, a job.
i read an article on harvard business review that interviewed loads of people that quit jobs.
the biggest regret most people had was not doing it sooner.

I signed a non compete when I started...dumb move. May make mt life difficult...but I can teach up to 6 classes with my mfa...schools want me to teach more....plus I just want to be home more with my son. Just wondering if the non compete will fuck me...or can I work under the radar in a different city if opportunities arise.
- Non-competes will not hold up in court, you have a right to work.utopian

Non-compete:
They can't stop you from working. Non-competes are more for not poaching all their clients and setting up an agency next door. Which you can do, just not from within the company.
Even still, unlikely they come after you, if they did, it's unlikely to be enforceable. You've got to fuck them pretty hard for it to be worthwhile to sue.Notice:
Chances are good they just pay you out your 2 weeks to have you out of the office and not able to do any damage. No 2 weeks could hurt you in the future when a new employer or client calls around asking about you.

yes. three times in life, including when I was a graphic designer for an art gallery.
1 - while working in a supermarket.
2 - art gallery
3 - coffeeshop in Amsterdam- Service jobs are much easier to quit w/o notice.studderine

I've handed a letter / list of my complaints about everyone in the office and the company. Handed it to them, and strolled out with my bag on my back. Got a month Salary for my trouble.

When I get tired of something and it stops making sense, bye...
There were other situations, but the fuck it type were only those three above.
I don't have patience for people that keep on complaining about their jobs everyday for years without quitting.
It's a bad working environment, they're people that you can't trust because they talk and brag too much, they hate people who are actually working, always trying to get excuses for things that haven't been done and so on.
They are slaves...If you don't feel happy you have to be honest to yourself and to the people you work with.
You're tired?
Just leave, go be happy or try.Good luck!

A non-compete usually only applies to industries you've serviced as a professional and usually only meant as a deterrent as you might have specific insider or trade knowledge about a particular clients business that they don't want you sharing with another client in the same industry.
To be quite frank I've never in my 6 years of working as a professional designer have ever heard of anyone being tripped up by a non-compete. But hey, if you want to be safe maybe you want to review the terms again..

NDA means you can't share stuff before your employer says it's okay.
Non-compete says you can't freelance for Pepsi if you work for Coke. How long do non-compete's last? Could a Coke exec. ever work for Pepsi if they wanted to be a traitor?

If you don't like anyone you work with and can find something else to do, leave now.
No reason in playing nice. You'll regret staying once you leave, cuz you'll never talk to anyone from there again.

Non competes are usually when you either:
1. Want to make sure an employee doesn't jump ship and try to take business (that'd be you)
2. Forming partnerships with someone that could use the info you bring to them without you.I use non compete/NDAs all the time. I also sign them all the time. And yes, they carry significant legal weight if written well.
- Most regions will NOT upload any contract that prevents you from earning a living in a trained field.
ETM - Even good non-competes can be defeated with a legal challenge.ETM
- The difference is when you are paid some sort of pay-out, fee or bonus related to non-compete beyond a standard wage.ETM
- wage or earnings.ETM
- BTW back on note 1, that is:
upload = upholdETM

If you walk out you will end up with nothing. No referrals, no unemployment, you will look like an ass clown in front of other employees and a burning bridge behind you. Personally if your situation is that bad, fine a way to get fired i.e. (late everyday for a week) at least you will be able to receive unemployment until you find another job once they fire you.
Good luck
