Does it make sense at all to take a larger than 16GB one?
My iPhone is 16GB and I barely use half of its capacity. Since I wouldn't be putting too much music on the iPad, I guess the only real large space wasters would be photos and films.
—What's the size (in mb) of a decently compressed feature film on the iPad?
—Does it automatically resize down photos to its screen size like the iPhone does?

sounds like it would be ideal for traveling.
maybe more robust than a net book. but then again you dont have to hold up a net book whilst watching stuff.

a client gave us one, and I love it. It's great for me because I don't have a "smart phone," I can watch netflix movies on it while I exercise, read books, etc

Using the iPad just to surf, email, tweet, facebook, watch video, shopping etc, means I could single out the desktop/laptop for real work. Good chance it'll make me more productive.
But I can also see a real usage for older users, retirees who don't need all the shite that comes bundled with a laptop. Pretty sure large proportion of people out there just buy a laptop for surfing, music, pictures.

i design iPad cases now.. as well as a full electronic accessories collection for every Apple Product. yesterday i met with the Apple buyer and it looks like my new designs will be sold in every Apple store in the world~!~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after CES in 2011 i believe the product will be shipped into the stores.

Actually, novelty wore off for me after I tested it twice at the store.
Still, I think this would be good for client talks, especially if they are likely to insist on Flash.

My sister got one a week ago and I have been playing with it everytime I see her. She is not very computer literate nor does she need to be so I thought it was a good idea for her to get the ipad especially since she only uses it to surf the web and use email.
I thought it was lame that she couldn't organize her photos and make albums directly on the ipad. Its annoying for her to use another computer and sort photos and make albums and then sync so the settings take place on the ipad. But overall she loves it.

i finally tried one out the other day. Seemed totally useless to me - you have to hold the bloody thing to use it, rendering it pretty pointless. I watched a fan boy with a laptop on his knee trying to juggle his new ipad and making a total mess of it - it brought home how much more use a laptop is. You don't need to hold it to use it, it protects the screen when not in use etc etc.
And it's unstable - the apple store has special stand to stop the ipad wobbling when you use it, but take it off those stands and put it on the tabletop and it's like using a bloody jelly!
I'll leave it to the fanboys, hipsters and trendsetters.
