it's getting increasingly difficult for me to give a shit anymore. but stevie needs to watch his steps as his company continues to lose share of the mobile market to other good phone and tablet alternatives. i'll still buy and develop for apple for the time being, but you can be damn sure i'm watching the competition as there's no brand loyalty here when the thickness of my wallet is at stake.

Adobe's argument is weak and untrue.
From http://www.adobe.com/choice/
"At Adobe, we believe that the open flow of creativity, ideas, and information should be limited only by the imagination. Innovation thrives when people are free to choose the technologies that enable them to openly express themselves and access information where and when they want. Everyone loses when technological barriers impede the exchange of ideas. Openness is at Adobe's core."Technologies like HTML5, jquery, mootools, etc are far more open than Flash ever has been or ever would be.
Adobe knows they are about to lose their status as the "big player" for video and interactive content, and they are looking for any way to hold on. It appears their strategy is to fan the flames of a debate that is raging among developers and nerds, but few other parties.
In my opinion, Adobe has already lost the battle. Time to move on.

"We publish the specifications for Flash — meaning anyone can make their own Flash player. Yet, Adobe Flash technology remains the market leader because of the constant creativity and technical innovation of our employees"
No, it's because the amount of effort involved would be so great and the end result so pointless. If you really cared you would open source your fucking player so that Linux users could fix their own problems and maybe even Apple would help speed you up on the Mac side like.
I mean they moan and moan about how Apple is closed if they are so fucking closed why did they work so hard on Webkit, the engine for the default browser on android for fuck sake!
Hypocritical lying cunts, Shantanu Narayen needs a punch in the cock.
- the bugs aren't documented. they'll need to reverse engineer the bugs to get a working alt. flash playerkpl

We believe that consumers should be able to freely access their favorite content and applications, regardless of what computer they have, what browser they like, or what device suits their needs AS LONG AS PROPRIETARY ADOBE TOOLS ARE USED TO CREATE THAT CONTENT FOREVER AND EVER®™℠

Apple's arguments about Flash not being able to work on a mobile device don't hold up any more.
Does this mean that Apple were lying?
- Yeah, Apple is basically saying that their hardware is shit.fyoucher1
- what about the battery?uan
- android's hardware is essentially the same as the iPhone, they never said anything bout the hardwarekpl
- what they don't show you is that at 6:35, the phone's battery diedmonospaced
- its the battery power thats the problemPIZZA
- might not be a problem - we don't know yet ..********

@emexbcn;
I have no idea why it matters that the iPhone was released three years ago.
The iPhone has been upgraded year on year. The current hardware isn't going to vary much from the current crop of Android devices. Steve Jobs' essay on Flash's incompatibility with mobile devices was published during the last month.
There isn't a time-limit for allowing technologies on-board the iPhone OS.
His arguments are slowly being shown for what they are: disingenuous statements, designed to divert attention way from the core _tactical_ decisions behind disallowing Flash from the iPhone OS.
- #6 on Jobs' letter was a blatantly tactical decision, that point was all about Apple's best interest. He didn't hide it.kpl
- #6 does not reveal Apple's motivation is plain terms at all.********

It kills me that people have to see it that either Apple or Adobe are the bad one - they are both just giant companies making lots of money.
Adobe needs the competition because it owns the software art tools marketing, except for 3D and video editing (Apple!)
Apple needs to the competition for the iPhone (and now iPad) and they are getting it. Android has now passed them (which they dispute).
Let them both thrive, and make good products we can use.
- I'm not arguing _for_ Adobe .. I'm arguing _against_ Apple. They're out of line.********
