Adobe's argument is weak and untrue.

    From http://www.adobe.com/choice/
"At Adobe, we believe that the open flow of creativity, ideas, and information should be limited only by the imagination. Innovation thrives when people are free to choose the technologies that enable them to openly express themselves and access information where and when they want. Everyone loses when technological barriers impede the exchange of ideas. Openness is at Adobe's core."

Technologies like HTML5, jquery, mootools, etc are far more open than Flash ever has been or ever would be.

Adobe knows they are about to lose their status as the "big player" for video and interactive content, and they are looking for any way to hold on. It appears their strategy is to fan the flames of a debate that is raging among developers and nerds, but few other parties.

In my opinion, Adobe has already lost the battle. Time to move on.
