OK, here's another analogy. If we repeal laws against theft and murder and the practical result is that people go on murderous rampages, are you going to sit around asking if its the fault of the system or the individual?
Obviously societies need to make rules in order to run effectively. Trying to pretend otherwise is naive and disproven by pretty much every example you can come up with.
- Because I totally said we don't need rules or laws, right?********
- That was the basis of your argument in terms of this, yes.ukit
- Please sharpen your comprehension skills.********
- But feel free to quote any of my posts where I say we don't need laws.********
- You said that problems with an ultra free market system are the consumers fault not the system.ukit
- But at some point there needs to be a tradeoff between complete freedom and what is actually good for society.ukit
- Comprendre?ukit
- Do I need to quote you where I said there need to be regulations? Do I?********
- http://www.qbn.com/t…
Owned?******** - Great, so the question then becomes where the line isukit
- If we move the line in one direction and things start to get worse, does that tell you something?ukit
- Because I totally said we don't need rules or laws, right?

btw spread, I trade derivatives in futures market.
Seriously man, if you understood this stuff a bit better you would see that the system needs more rules because it's fucked.
- oh and carbon trade is, so far, a scam =) www.chicagobusiness...zarkonite
- YES! carbon is another fake market for a few select who have pull in gov to make lots of money********

Of course, with the ability to murder and steal, society will be that much more "free." *waves miniature American flag as tear rolls down cheek
- free but not ethically free. philosophy of capitalism is to maintain freedom********
- the only system that can********
- of course its not a magic wand but the philosophy is there. understand the philosophy easy to identify whos carrying the club or workign for the club********
- club or whos is workign for the club. maybe even on a misguided mission********
- It can't be an absolutist thing though and that's what you miss.ukit
- There is a tradeoff at some point between freedom and the greater good.ukit
- why im always saying find a balance. im not an absolutist. you just liek to see me that way********
- how can you have an absolute when change is never ending. its silly. capitalism is primarily a guidepost of what is right********
- free but not ethically free. philosophy of capitalism is to maintain freedom

You "trade derivatives in the futures market."
First of all, futures are derivatives. I'll give you a little test in a bit to prove my suspicions that you're full of shit. Second of all, I've been actively working in the financial industry for 6 years now. I did my undergrad at USC. B.S. in Mathematics. Master's in Financial Engineering at Haas. 3.96 cumulative GPA, 722 non my GMAT. I've completed my first two levels of the CFA so far, and I'm sitting for the CFA L3 in June 2011. I have been a partner at a mid-cap hedge fund here in NYC for 3 years, whose name I won't mention here.
Don't tell me I don't understand this subject.

Started drawing ANSIs in the early 90s... yadi yadi yada... I'm now an art director working in advertising."******** - Haha, good one zarkonite. Almost fell for it, didn't I?********
- Because a fake backstory adds so much weight to your argumentsukit
- totally, thanks for listening tho. It's enlightening.. there are people here who DO know me.zarkonite
- Fake back story? Obviously you don't remember when I proved my identity was legit.********
- Back when my hedge username was alive.********
- hedge proved he was for real? I thought he made some silly arguments and lost and GOT lost?zarkonite
- I see I'm still famous amongst all these creatives.********

Isn't it kind of bizarre that Americans can claim to be ultra Christian and also participate in an economic system based so heavily on debt?
The Bible went to great lengths to make the point that the entire idea of loaning money for profit is against God and should be condemned:
- Good thing I'm not religious and actually employ logic in argument.********
- banking and its root in religion is an interesting evolutionary thing. was it done in good intention? who knows********
- very interesting aspect though. probably a good intention by many turned bad by few for power/money. like unions********
- It's just interesting that the negative aspects of it were so apparent at the time the Bible was writtenukit
- Good thing I'm not religious and actually employ logic in argument.

spread: you don't seem to have the vocabulary of someone with all those credentials.
- Should I fail to properly punctuate a sentence like you do?********
- Should I start working as a designer pretending to be a futures trader? haha********
- good job, the defense is working well, you've totally convinced me I'm full of shit.zarkonite
- so why aren't you relating to us all those day to day facts you work with all the time?zarkonite
- Should I fail to properly punctuate a sentence like you do?
- zarkonite0
@spread: futures exchange are full of derivatives yes, but you should know that just saying derivatives is a little vague innit?
- why are you getting so high and mighty all of a sudden? ran out of arguments?zarkonite
- Vague? People who actually trade futures call themselves futures traders.********
- Dude, just give it up. You're an art director. You're not a trader.********
- And you're not a trader.ukit
- c'mon don't go to bed! we're just getting started!!!!!zarkonite
- I'm not an art director, I can prove it! I have NO WORK whatsoever on the net.. there!zarkonite
- I didn't say I'm currently a trader, ukit. If anything my title is closer to portfolio manager.********
- Our hedge fund primarily trades distressed debt.********

- so where's my test? I'm waiting.zarkonite
- He's a guy with access to Google and mastery of cut and paste key shortcutsukit
- Financial Advisor? Man, reading comprehension here is horrid.********
- No, I clearly stated that I'm partner of a HEDGE FUND, and my title is CLOSEST to PM********
- still waiting to be tested.zarkonite
- First tell me where I said I was a financial advisor. I'm actually curious.********

What is sad is that someone out there thinks being a Wall Street exec carries some kind of authority in this debate to the point where they pretend to be one.
- I'll bet he never fucking asks a single question, I'll have to be after him all day tomorrow.. pffffzarkonite
- zarkonite, I'm still waiting for your response.********
- ********0
I only brought up my education and experience because this faux-trader questioned my understanding of this topic and brought up the lie about him being a trader.
Get over yourself, ukit. You're not doomed to poverty in the creative industry.
- zarkonite0
ok you're hopeless. ciao ciao.
- Admission of defeat so soon?********
- I expected a bit more out of an art director.********
- Admission of defeat so soon?
- zarkonite0
I've been asking you for over 20 minutes to disprove me with your questioning... I had time to go pick up some fucking milk for fuck's sake and you're still here talking shit not trying to destroy me like you said you would with all those credentials.
- Still waiting for your response first.********
- btw, sorry to everyone else for jacking this thread.zarkonite
- Still waiting for your response first.

Oh, wait a minute. I think I know where zarkonite goofed.
He thought that CFA stood for Certified Financial Advisor..... haha

Good night QBN. Don't ever change. I love it.
