money isn't the problem, money is a tool.
it's the person who wields the tool (or doesn't) that is the cause of the problem.

Why do people with no money have so many problems? Wealth and power are the real problems.

"a teacher would teach because they want to teach"
- The really good ones do, cause it ain't for the money. For a lot of them it cost them money to teach.- All the other ones do it so they can collect unemployment for 3 months.

^ doing something just because it's your passion (as opposed to doing it for money) will not work because we need sewage treatment and nobody's passionate about treating sewage

There are 2 kinds of people people: those who enjoy the ride (experience of life) and those who enjoy the destination (tangible goals such as things, money etc). The philosophical difference between those two causes the clash as one side doesn't full understand the other.

I think that the concept of 'interest' is a problem.
People shouldn't be able to get rich so easily from just having money, imo.
- So banks are evil then? Sounds right to me hahaFrosty_spl

^ you'd might be surprised in who would work in a sewage treatment facility. Civil and Environmental Engineers are very well respected and a desired job for many.

Listen, unless you cats can describe a system without money that would actually work, I think it would be hard to describe money as the problem.
If everything was bartered, you'd spend half your day trying to find the appropriate rate of exchange. It would be a huge waste of time and people would get less done and live less comfortably as a result. Eventually, someone would come up the bright idea that a goat is always worth 20 chickens, and then the even brighter idea to use an arbitrary system of value instead of worrying about goats and chickens, and voila, money.

I think we just need an extra variable to work towards .. something extra (and quantifiable) that we can use to judge our success in life.
