OK, here's another analogy. If we repeal laws against theft and murder and the practical result is that people go on murderous rampages, are you going to sit around asking if its the fault of the system or the individual?
Obviously societies need to make rules in order to run effectively. Trying to pretend otherwise is naive and disproven by pretty much every example you can come up with.
