"Crashing the Dollar: How to Survive a Global Currency Collapse"
http://www.crashingthedollar.com…"The United States is digging the biggest economic hole in human history.
This hole of debt is now so deep that, if you listen carefully, you can hear the voices of Chinese creditors asking one another if they will ever get back the $900 billion they have lent to us.
This hole of debt is so wide that it threatens to collapse the foundations not only of the U.S. Dollar and economy but also of other major currencies and economies around the world."

Vote to establish a Palestinian state scheduled for next week
http://english.aljazeera.net/ind…
So it looks like there will be a UN vote and the US will be among the few nations in the world to vote "no". Not even Mahmoud Abbas' repeated assurance that his first act following the vote will be to open negotiations with Israel will have an impact on the US position. No, we will stand with Netanyahu even though internationally the perception that the US and Israel are joined at the hip is the last thing any president wants.
But let's not give up hope. This weekend is the 10th anniversary of 9/11, a particularly inauspicious time for the Obama administration to look like Netanyahu's puppet.
This is not to say that the terrorists who would love to strike America again are seriously concerned about the Palestinians. They aren't. But America's seeming hostility to the Palestinians and our "no daylight" alliance with Israel gives them a convenient pretense to commit terrorism. And it gives the vast majority of the people in the Middle East, who are fighting against both al-Qaeda and their Western-backed dictators, further reason to question our motivations in the region.
The Palestinian issue is the one issue on which all Muslims are united. Whether Saudi, Iranian, Indonesian, or Afghani, the one issue that brings Muslims together is the belief that the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the blockade of Gaza are terrible wrongs, supported by the US. Muslims aren't the only ones who feel this way, as will be demonstrated by the overwhelming vote for the Palestinian statehood resolution that the US and Israel will stand virtually alone in opposing.
The Obama administration should keep that in mind when it decides how it will handle the vote. Promoting the two-state solution, starting with a vote FOR a Palestinian state at the UN, is not only the moral thing to do - just as it was when the US supported Israel's statehood at the UN in 1947 - but it is also the right thing to do from the standpoint of America's security. For Israel's sake, for the Palestinians', and for our own, the President should tell the US ambassador to the UN to vote "yes".
However, the U.S. cannot veto a potential second vote in the 193-member General Assembly that would make Palestine a nonvoting observer state at the world body. That would afford the Palestinian state entry to join dozens of United Nations agencies and treaty groups like the International Criminal Court, where in theory it could take up cases against Israeli officials for alleged war crimes or settlement building in the West Bank.

You know what we need to do? We need to cut corporations taxes! That's the way to get jobs created. I mean, let's look at one company for example - I dunno...Bank of America maybe! I mean let's see..in 2009 they paid let's see...Oh. -$1.9 billion. Oh. They got a tax credit. Of $1.9 Billion. Well, I'm glad to see they used that to create jo....oh wait. They're cutting 30,000 jobs.
I guess we'll just have to figure out how to cut their taxes more so the government can give them more refunds so they can hire people. Or something.

GOP debate tonite: Ron Paul tries to explain to Rick Santorum why we can’t blame all Muslims for terrorism caused by extremists. Audience boos.
Ron Paul is asked if a healthy 30 year old who works hard but can't quite afford medical insurance has an emergency and slips into a coma, who will pay for that? - he replies "...that's what freedom is all about". Audience member yells "Let him die!"
Fucking clown show.

^ That was unbelievable. You'd like to believe the average American is not on board with this shit but who the fuck knows?

I don't get it guys.
Whats wrong with personal responsibility?
If a guy doesn't want to pay his insurance and has a catastrophic accident do you want to pay his bills?
You guys are ok with paying the bills for people that don't want to take responsibility for their actions?
A personal story, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer after the surgery her insurance dropped her and said they wouldn't pay the coverage because "she knew she had cancer before she went to the doctor."
She racked up a bill for $80,000 for treatment and a mastectomy. While they didn't have the the money to sue the insurance company (which would have taken years and a lot of money)
You know what she did? She set up a payment plan with the hospital and paid $300 a month for 4 years. One day the hospital called her and asked her to come in to talk about her debt. She was a nervous wreck. Worried they were going to take her house.
The hospital said "we have reviewed your case and feel you were unjustly treated by the insurance agency and we appreciate you making an effort to pay off your debt. In return we are going to wipe your debt 100% and here is an official letter claiming so."
Thats called responsibility. I'm not sure how you live your lives.
Or is it his responsibility to man up to his decision? In the suburbs of Dallas the communities come together if a family is in need with donations while the churches come into to provide moral, food and other support.
As for radical muslims. It does exist. Look whats happening to london. I guess that is all made up in your mind.
I suppose the Arab spring is not the Muslim brotherhood takeover but muslims who want freedom while they chant 'death to israel' and 'we are building the gas chambers.'
I would also guess all of the worlds problems are created by the United States and Israel. China and Iran or Russia have nothing to do with it because they're 'good' countries.
Its easy to burry your head in the sand but the only thing you guys do is attack. I am the only libertarian on here and you guys make it damn near impossible to debate. Creating threads singling a person out for their views.
The fact is you despise any view point that is not your own. You want to shut down any viewpoint that is not your own while I feel you have the right to say and speak whatever you want.
- how does coma guy pay bills in a coma?********

Viking, no one wants to shut anyone up. Look at CNN giving the forum to the Tea Party even though they are only supported by 20% of the country.
As as far your story goes, I'm glad it turned out OK for your family. But how does a hospital (in this case, not in most of them) wiping someone's debt free equate to personal responsibility? Surely the "personal responsibility" thing would have been to make the person pay the entire bill. And what bearing does a fluke situation like that have on any kind of public policy?
- My mom was responsible for the debt she inquired. She made set up a payment plan to pay the debt off********
- thats called responsibility. I took on the debt and ill pay it off. She paid $10,000 towards the debt before it was wiped********
- The hospital actually told her they approach these cases on a case by case basis to determine how to proceed with the money owed. I agree it is a fluke but they appreciated her effort********

Yes the Arab Spring is about freedom. Would you want to live under a dictatorship propped up by foreign powers?
Why are you only concerned about Israel and not the freedom of Muslims and the majority of people in that region?
People should have the right to live in a society the way they want, even if it conflicts with your own beliefs.

Thought it was interesting that the Tea Party booed Ron Paul when he tried to talk about the causes of 9/11 and cheered Rick Santorum when he gave that overly simplistic, jingoistic answer about hating us for our freedoms.
The idea that terrorists would come over here and bomb us just because they don't like the way women dress or the kind of movies we make is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
What exactly is the difference between the Tea Party and George Bush? They still support militaristic foreign policy and American imperialism. Tea Party is often presented as something new but really they are just slightly more crazy Republicans from the Bush era.
- Tea party wants military for self protection, bushs military was for corporations.********

the reaction to ron paul talking about 9/11 was almost as horrifying as the audience saying "yes let him die!" about insurance. these are the same nutjobs that wanted to burn down the white house over terry schaivo.
the entire american political process is now disheartening - not just the tea party. the first ten minutes of the debate was wolf blitzer on a stage that looked like a cross between american idol, survivor and the nba finals. introducing the candidates, loving freedom and never hitting any actual points is not a debate, it's showmanship. the networks who orchestrate these want ratings, and they're disowning journalism in the process.
having w in office was bad enough. but the fallout from him lowers the standards that much more, and this is what happens because dumb wasn't dumb enough.
- I kinda agree, the questions were staged and not really to the point.********
- On the people booing or let him die is because they're fed up with freeloaders.********

tea party wants to cut 1.6 trillion over the next ten years with 'entitlement' programs. that figure sounds familiar, oh yea, that is about what the war in Afghanistan has cost. So fucking pride and these colors dont run trump our poor, sick and elderly. yea. fuck that shit.
that is some misplaced patriotism right there.

The only "shut down" attempts I've seen in this thread the last few weeks are comments addressing someone who feels compelled to post articles and videos in buckshot fashion, and when engaged in debate political discussion/debate, the response is dismissive nonsense. The result isn't political discord, but simply matching post for post. This crowd, regardless of sociopoliticonmic ideologies and leanings, is better than functioning like a bootleg RSS feed.

Everything you are talking about Viking is an outlier. How many people didn't get a fair shake, just like your mom, but either didn't HAVE the $300/mo to pay or, even if they did, didn't get the consideration your mom thankfully did.
And it's awesome when communities come together and help their fellow members. But that doesn't happen everywhere. There are sparsely populated communities and poor communities and divided communities and communities full of people who just keep to themselves. Point is, it's not reliable, so people will inevitably suffer for no other reason than chance.
Ironically, universal health care is the very idea of a community (a national community) coming together and making sure that people who can't, despite every effort, afford their medical bills don't miss out on the care they need. And, yup, there are going to be people who try to get something they don't need and will cheat to get it. The folly is focusing on those who don't need it rather than those who do.And it's not our unwillingness to allow other opinions here that makes it impossible for you to 'debate'. It's the fact that nearly every post you've made devolves into ridiculous hyperbole and namecalling at the slightest, or absolutely no, provocation.
And it's not just those with your views that act that way. There are a lot of people with liberal views here who act JUST as childish as the people their railing against. It sucks and it's counter-productive.
If you actually want to have a debate, as you say, i suggest ignoring the insults and toning down your rhetoric. Also, considering another's opinions, researching some facts and making room for the possibility that you aren't always right. Hopefully that will thwart the knee-jerk reaction of belittling anyone who doesn't share your opinion
