so... the apple store lived up to it's rep of sucking SO HARD...
after 2 days in a row of calling me to tell me my laptop was ready, i drive there and it's NOT...
last night, after 3 hours of being calmly pissed off, they sent me home with a brand new MacBook Pro with Leopard. HOTT!!

As we speak (er, type) I'm on hold with Apple. I was told by an online Apple "Expert" last week that if I purchase a new computer in store I'd have Leopard at my door the day it came out. I purchased it on Oct. 16th, ordered the up to date, and now almost 2 weeks later, still no Leopard. I would've happily waited til Oct. 26 and bought a new computer with Leopard preinstalled but since the "Expert" said I'd have it the day it came out, I figured I'd avoid waiting in line.
Their online delivery status keeps changing from Oct. 29 to Oct. 30. As I was on the phone with the rep it changed from Oct. 30 to Oct. 29, and today is Oct. 31. I stupidly had it delivered USPS because the "Expert" said I'd have it at my door. I would've had it FedEx if I had known I'd be unable to actually track the package and that it could take up to 7 business days for delivery.
Still on hold...wondering how they'll help remedy the situation.

It really sucks for us long time Mac users. Support just isn't the same as it used to be.

I like that Apple fixed my problem (i.e. gave me a refund without any issue) but it did bum me out that my first big purchase from them didn't go as planned. This is to be expected now, but the disappointment was there.
