hosting and throwing a Cinco de Mayo fiesta here at the house. It's gonna go down with will be fresh pressed juice margaritas, champs and fresh fish tacos in the private cove, on the
beach, at sunset/dusk time for 20 or so people.I am also thinking of doing some queso fresco/shrimp stuffed, grilled poblano's (or Anaheims) to round it out. course, there will be the accompanying moles, fresh-friend tortilla chips, aji amarillo, cilatro/garlic paste, and flan.
who is doing up el cinco en la barbacoa?

Does anyone else laugh the instant they hear or read "fish taco" ... ?
I have a new client contact named Rod, and I chuckle almost every time I hear his name too, haha.
- mrdobolina0
not me, I have a party to go to on may 5th. So I will not be grilling this time around.
- madirish0
no, i do not laugh. they are heavenly.
- mrdobolina0
Yeah, I have made fish tacos plenty of times. Mostly indoors though. They still rule.

grunttt, potato salad is one of the only things I know how to make, haha.
I have a rendered version from my mom, who got it from hers (my Nana) and I make it for BBQs and such and everyone is completely surprised when I bring it out, hehe.
I updated it with some hot sauce, but it has been the only potato salad I have ever been able to eat, heh.
Well outside of Warm German Potato Salad, but it is kind of hard to ruin that.
I’ll post my version later on, I don’t know much about grilling but perhaps the German and Lithuanian dishes I know could be altered slightly as well, heh.

A set of BBQ tools with etched flames, hot rod decals, and a mop brush with a bottle opener on the end for $15. So worth it.

Any ideas on what to cook tonite?
I have nothing in my fridge except condiments.
Also, I either want to try a new case of beer or venture into wine for no apparent reason... (well I always want to venture into wine I tried once and saw it just was not for me though - for some reason I think it would make me sophisticated, but I really just like boxed wine if I had my choice).

I grilled 2-inch thick porterhouse porkchops on Sunday also new yukon gold potatoes in a sealed pan with garlic, fresh oregano, vidalia onions and olive oil.
Good stuff, the pork chops were actually too big.

4lb Angus Beef Top Roast on the rotisserie. Cut slits in roast and insert slices of garlic, rub with salt pepper, thyme and hungarian paprika. Grill indirectly for approx 60 minutes with internal grill temperature about 375 F. Skewered zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms and onions, basted in cholula. yukon gold potatoes sliced thinly with spanish onions and garlic, more thyme slow roasted in an aluminum pan.
Happy Mother's Day!

If you participated in the NT Fit thread, please disregard this post.
Here's what I got going on today. Turkey Basil Sausages and Hot Italian Sausages. Bring a six pack of beer to a boil, add a few cloves of garlic, a chopped onion and red peppers to the beer. Grill the sausages until they are about 2/3 of the way cooked through. Take the sausages off of the grill and put them in the beer, onion, garlic and pepper boil for about 5 minutes. Remove the sausages and cover them up for a few minutes, this will allow all of the juices to re-distribute through the sausages so they don't burst hot beer all over people :)
Pour out some of the beer from the still boiling pot, add a stick of butter and reduce this mixture down until the onions, garlic and peppers are a big gooey buttery mess. use this to top the sausages on your favorite brat bun or french roll.

chicken peanut satay skewers
cut breast tenders into strips about 3/4 inch wide, marinate them in soy, olive oil garlic ginger lemon juice cilantro and crushed red pepper for about 7 hours. Thread them onto skewers with spring onions between them.
mix smooth peanut butter with coconut milk, a bit more soy sauce and more cilantro and red pepper, heat until it thickens.
Grill, basting the skewers with peanut mixture. reserving some of the peanut mixture for dipping.
goddamn.

Nice Calles, sounds real good.
I got these grill grates with circular holes about the size of a dime in them. I grilled fresh green beans, mushrooms with lemon juice and parmesan on Monday.
I can grill anything on these new grates, no more cooking anything indoors.
