BOO-YAH!
Weighed in at 224lbs. today! I just started cardio this week, plus I've hiked 3 weekends in a row and all the hikes are at least 6 miles or more. Diet is still strong...
220 here I come!

way to go guys! congrats :)
and since point5 and michelle checked me on my protein intake my weight has leveled off, thanks guys :D

congrats point5, way to keep it up. I'm for sure eating better (low carb, more protein) but my exercise is not consistent. But the time between inconsistencies is shrinking for sure. Once it gets warmer it will be a lot easier to just grab the bike and ride for 1 hour. I feel a lot better that is for sure, and i'm down a belt loop so that means somethings working

Ugh!
I'm freakin out, I've plateaued for about 4 months now, but I've started a power lifting regimine and my lifts have gone up dramatically. So hopefully it's all exchanged. I just got to 30 minutes on cardio without thinking of it.

Nicely done guys!!!

January 1st - 199 pounds
March 1st - 190 poundsIt's a solid 190 though. Occasionally it'll drop to 189 or 188, but it won't go past 191...I need to get over the hump! Still eating well, though. And I noticed a calf muscle yesterday!

January 17th - 193lbs
March 1st - 182lbsIt's been super tough because I'm not really dieting. I'm eating healthier but still taking in the right amount of food so I can build lean muscle mass while losing the fat. My waist has gone down a ton but the weight has taken forever to remove. I don't think I'm going to hit my goal weight by April 1st. :(

ahhh... since it warmed up I've been running. man, that's kinda depressing. What's a good interval for getting back in. I went 3 days after my 1st run, and I went sunday morning. Gonna go again tonight. Is every other day ideal or should I go every 3?
- k0na_an0k0
I hate running. If you can do it more power to ya.
If I were you I'd try to go every other night 4x a week.
Also think about a heart monitor. If you're doggin it the monitor will tell you so you can speed up to burn more calories.

Oh, hey guys. I've been eating like a horrible monster for the past two months, stress mostly is to blame, but...
I finally got the Nike + gadgetry this past week and did my first run on Saturday.
LOVE IT!
Very motivational, love seeing the data charted, the incentive is that it only works if you use it, you know?
Went 2.47 miles in 25 minutes, 10'01" pace, 347 calories burned.
Listening to music is a great distraction, I only wish they had more than just male or female voices, I could run 10 miles or more if I were able to chose "Seductive Female French Prostitute"

lol mg33!
Nicely done. Maybe when it gets a bit warmer out I'm going to start running in the early am for my cardio, then weight train in the pm after work.
I'm thinking of competing again.
I missed my weight goal for April 1st by 10lbs but I lost 2 inches from my waist so I guess I did good. I just wanted that weight really bad.

About 2 years ago I found about a heart condition (that I've always known about... but no one would fucking believe me 'till I had an 'episode')...
... so, I'm stuck doing the WEAKEST workouts (when I do them)...
... I have an issue w/any exercise where my head isn't 'on top' of my body (meaning... I can't do bench presses etc cuz I get dizzy in seconds... crazy lack of oxygen etc)... and this condition makes SIT UPS impossible...
... so... I'm looking for 'vertical alternatives' so I can keep my 'head up' when I exercise. I've been doing standing twists w/weights for my abs etc... seems to work...
... but I need options... ya'll got any 'keep your head up' exercises for a lil pony?

"This was one of the few on the "most effective" list that involves gym equipment. Start with legs dangling and slowly lift your knees in toward your chest. The motion should be controlled and deliberate as you bring your knees up and return them back to the starting position."

marathon training – hill run (this short run gains about 600meters in elevation):

I'm glad this thread is still around.
I started a 'thing' a few weeks ago. I worked out my ideal daily intake (calories, fat, saturates, protein, carbs, fiber) and worked out four times a week (home gym). I even restricted my alcohol intake.
Now, as far as I know, my work-out was what I should be doing, since I rarely get exercise. I double-checked (sometimes triple-checked) my calculations so I know I didn't screw up there.
After two weeks I lost no weight and had less energy than I did when my diet consisted of Starbucks, Papa John's and Chips Ahoy.
I've resisted joining the gym so far, mainly because of money reasons, but also because I have this notion that all gym-goers are fucking wankers (no offence to anyone intended).
What's the next step?
(If this stuff has been covered already in this thread I apologize but there's no way I'm wading through 500 posts tonight)
