watched the full 'questioning darwin' last night.
it was decent, kind of slow though- I like how the guy started out trying to question darwin, and ended up a full-on converted believermonospaced
- he just couldn't question evolution in the face of the overwhelming evidencemonospaced
- how old are you in order to witness evolution?yurimon
- asking that question, yurimon, makes you sound like a drooling retardmonospaced
- and anyone who doesn't believe in it actually IS partly retardedmonospaced
- "how old are you in order to witness evolution?" - bible thumper.

I'll tell you what I find awful about that clip above, the shot of the kids all saying 'the Garden of Eeeeden' in a collective monotone drawl. It just brings home how vulnerable kids are to what they are fed at this age and how it's a dangerous thing when you don't have an education where you are safe from indoctrination from one particular belief system.
Don't get me wrong, I think religious studies are an important part of schooling as they are such a large part of the world and more importantly our history, but it should be taught never from the religious point of view and certainly not from a single religions point of view.
When I was a kid here in the UK, R.E. was learning about all the major religions, where they started, when they started, how they've been interlinked through the ages. That meant by the time I was in my mid to late teens I felt I had enough information to make my own mind up on what I believed. (Also, I was also lucky that although my Mum believes in god my parents never forced any beliefs on me so there was never any pressure at home.)
- there is nothing religion can teach you that atheists can't. religion should not be taught to children.doesnotexist
- I'm an atheist and I say that religion should be taught in the context of history and the social make up of the world.Wolfboy
- One of the things that very quickly helped me leave behind religion was learning about the religions of today as well as ancient religions.Wolfboy
- ancient religions.Wolfboy
- 'ere ere wolfboy. nice to read sane chaps on the internet every once in a whileinteliboy

"10 Reasons the Crucifixion Story Makes No Sense"
http://www.patheos.com/blogs/cro…"So God sacrificed himself to himself so we could bypass a rule that God made himself and that God deliberately designed us to never be able to meet? I can’t even understand that; I certainly feel no need to praise God for something so nonsensical. It’s like an abused wife thanking her abuser. We can just as logically curse God for consigning us to hell from birth."
- Just read that <. Bless, I think it was written by one of those simple minded 'atheist' types. Moronic to say the least.Morning_star
- Looking for the logic in religion is crazy.Morning_star

The Enemies of Reason programme whilst interesting is more contrived than the book of Genesis.Full interviews here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/…As a scientist Dawkins should be ashamed of manipulating the content of his interviews to serve his own agenda, this is dogmatic science in action. He does this lots.
- Yup, Dawkins is no better than religious nutters. Just the other end of the spectrum.********
- As true as that might be, he's still rightmonospaced
- show me the evidence logical fallacy guy...yurimon
- show me the evidence for ANYTHING ELSE being correct... oh that's rightmonospaced
- fucking ironic how religious nuts can demand evidence, and never have any for their stupid beliefsmonospaced
- I'm not religious you must be talking about your belief in science...yurimon
- oh, I thought you were always defending the bible against the devil's hell-sciencemonospaced
- I thoguht you believed in a creatormonospaced
- you literally questioned the validity of evoltuion the other daymonospaced

- < i thought you were a bible thumper toomoldero
- or were you b4, and now your starting to think for yourself?moldero
- What's so bad about editing interviews? Isn't that just what every filmmaker does?ukit2
- profane view? all that means is anything spoken outside the church... so you are religiousmonospaced
- I watched part of the Deepak Chopra one, and it didn't seem to be very different from the showukit2
- Deepak Chopra is full of shit, it must be said :Pukit2
- deeper understanding and the quest foryurimon
- Yup, Dawkins is no better than religious nutters. Just the other end of the spectrum.

Mind as a filter theory... Theory suggests that the mind is more of filter of spectrum, experience, reality in order to have a time experience and maintain function. Interesting.
