So science peeps. Can some one scientifically explain consciousness?
the links that show the neuro shit doesnt go deep enough im talking quantum. unified theory here. I want to know. by the way im not sunday school type, I just understand where you guys are fanatics and scientific limitation in explaining or testing certain aspects of the universe. maybe in a 100 years but its not here yet or at least exposed to you profane types.- < you first ^moldero
- Can you explain it with whatever it is that you believe in?hereswhatidid
- My beliefs change as I am not attached to ideas, because frankly so much not proven or unclear.yurimon
- I do understand different mind sets in different ideas, religious or scientific. I think there evidence that points to a different pastyurimon
- past regarding mystism and introspective vs extrospection. there is pros n cons understanding the historic relationshipyurimon
- relationship of these ideas. I think there is more power of the self in introspection. the adaption of extreme extrospective in modern times has its effects in our relationship to nature and easier to manage people with this idea in its extremeyurimon
- modern times has its effects in our relationship to nature and easier to manage people with this idea in its extremeyurimon
- im indifferent to what you believe. just like to debate.. so dont shoot the messenger.yurimon
- and we have a religious past and some scientific concepts come from it. like concept of the ether.yurimon
- we can explain it to you for another 30 threads but you're still gonna believe it's magic. we've already covered this shit ad nauseum.scarabin
- nauseum.scarabin

Finding a flaw in science doesn't lend support to religion, trollimon.
- not saying it monk keyyurimon
- :)yurimon
- You're clearly implying that it does.hereswhatidid
- nay. Im simply implying that science has its limits, and that there is something to gain from certain concepts in religious texts on a non profane level. however I dont imply the current understanding of certain religious beliefsyurimon
- however I dont imply the current understanding of certain religious beliefs in the mainstreamyurimon
- concepts such as? you always manage to avoid actually addressing anyones direct questionshereswhatidid
- are we building some good rapport yet?yurimon
- again, you completely avoid the questionhereswhatidid

i think what yurimon is trying to say is
"religion is whack. science is whack. y'all Whak"Everyone else "religion is whak."
and I just wanna know who's winning....
- scarabin0
it was only ever a contest in yuri's mind. i'm just trying to teach the poor guy what science is. i've got no beef with religion so long as it harms none.
i personally don't care if you believe in god, or you believe you're a pirate, or you believe that rubbing your teeth with coconuts for 20 minutes a day purifies your blood. i actually find it very entertaining.
but when you interrupt my nerdy circlejerk with rants based on a gross misunderstanding of the basic fundamentals of logic i'm gonna try and set you straight. i'm a helpful guy like that.
- Science has its limitations..yurimon
- yes, reason is its limitation. if it's absurd it will never fly.scarabin
- like i said before, it's not a magic 8-ball. that's the purpose of religion.scarabin
- Considering science is exploring yoga, meditation, so it not magic in how mind body can effect each otheryurimon
- however it can measure or explain everything. so thus its limited at the same time ancient people have explainyurimon
- er cantyurimon
- not one person in either the religion or science thread has ever claimed that science has, or even can, explain everything. we're working on it, though. and that's beautiful and has propelled mankind to previously unimaginable heights.scarabin
- we're working on it, though. and that's beautiful and has propelled mankind to previously unimaginable heights.scarabin
- you seem to embrace it...yurimon

i'm just gonna say though, if there WERE a religion vs science contest, just look around you. you're sitting in front of one of the pinnacles of human creation right now, which is beaming electrons all around the world and bouncing signals off a fucking satellite in outer fucking space. everything around you right now is there because of science in one form or another. you owe science your entire lifestyle.
what's religion accomplished recently?
take religion out of your life and nothing changes.
take science out of your life and you're a fucking caveman.

"take religion out of your life and nothing changes."
Sorry Scaramouche, but despite being in your side, sort of, you are totally wrong here.
Read your sentence again...If you look carefully you will understand that without religion a lot, but a fucking lot would be different.
so many barriers between people would fall down, political stuff solved, etc...in one hand.
in the other hand there would be somehow a void.we nee more spirituality and less religion.
i think ore people would believe in a driven force.all this human history and religion hand in hand..fuck that!
i don't believe but i can't, and don't want, to prove shit.
i just wanna roll it and smoke it...
It's Friday!- more people!...********
- oh there would be impact, a lot more peace and less violence. i was referring to negative impact, however.scarabin
- there would only be void in people who had no substance of their own to begin withscarabin
- ah okay.********
- as an atheist I am offended that you think there would be a spiritual void. there's enough spirituality in the natural world for anyonemonospaced
- seems mono is leaning toward deism...yurimon
- i'm agnostic myself********
- more people!...

i don't believe but i can't, and don't want to, prove shit.
I drink tonight, cause tomorrow night is the night before Sunday and I have to go to church to check them widow ladies...
- scarabin0
spirituality (or religion) is not necessary for people to live positive lives. if you need the threat of an eternity in hell to motivate you to not be a dick and to help others, you're just a shit person. be your own "driving force".
- yupmoldero
- I am an atheist, and I find deep spirituality in nature and the wonder of our existence. I think it's 100% necessary.monospaced
- to me spirituality is an ambiguous term lacking any real meaning. we probably disagree on its definitionscarabin
- Nobody says it is. I dont see you as your own driving force... your main stream hipster typeyurimon
- that's probably the most ignorant thing i've heard you say so farscarabin
