what do you do when an adult coworker reacts like a child?
screams fuck you and leaves the room just because you didn't agree with his opinion.
he wants to fire a team of two other coworkers who maintain a server framework we could replace with a Microsoft product, just because it's easier for him to use it. I was just proposing to see if our coworkers could implement more ms like usability before we fire them.

I think he is an ashole. And a coward.
I should work on firing him probably.

    • Is his name Donald?_niko
    • I wonder what's going on, or what has already happened, in his personal life that's causing him to react like that.SteveJobs

Hey guys and gals, I got this Tamron lens (18-270mm), looking for something shorter, smaller, what's a classic lens to hang everywhere ?

    • I do 50mm & 85mm prime when I'm on the move.helloeatbreathedrive
    • Thanksi_was
    • 50mm came to my mindi_was
    • I use a Canon Fd with my Fuji t20, such a fun combo :)helloeatbreathedrive
    • Really depends on your shooting habits, fav subjects, whether you like shooting narrow or wide and what you attach it to.spl33nidoru
    • That being said you can't go wrong with a 50, my fav being the Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM, sharp yet creamy.spl33nidoru
    • I use 35's on my Sony and XT-1, have done for years without relying on anything else. Want something bigger in the frame? Walk closer towards it.face_melter

    • +1 for 50mm, but all depending on what you want to shootfuturefood
    • Any prime lens from any era will destroy that 18-270 in terms of sharpness, contrast, speed, quality. Buy used, make sure you get the right mount.nb
    • Ditto @nb and I love the fact combining a 35+ year old lens with a modern camera, still get fantastic results and I find it romantic :)helloeatbreathedrive

Found another thing for me to do during pandemic. I bought a watercolor and a caligraphy pen. Basic stuff as I am a total beginner. But at least something positive.

    • That's cool man, painting is greati_was
    • These pencil pens you load them with painting.?i_was

    AUGH.

I ran out of 2B 0.9mm leads a while ago and because 2020 I've not had a chance to go to a shop to stock up again, so I've been using HB leads and... it's just not right. Not right at all.

But today, I had to visit Atlantis - an art shop in Hackney, not the fabled sunken utopia - and stocked up on leads, scalpel blades and erasers and gosh, my pencils feel *right* again.

    Hard leads suck ass.

I only realised about 20 minutes ago that I've been 'breaking the law' this week. When I leave my studio here and go around the rest of the building (where there's a kitchen, cafe/bar, venue, shared spaces, etc etc) I'm supposed to wear a mask, aren't I, now that the rules have changed again?

I'd even seen a big group of people filming an ad in here yesterday all wearing masks indoors and it never even began to instigate the thought that perhaps I should too.

    Bunch of fucker.

Noticed something weird with my ISP - I can access various torrent and filesharing sites no problemo but for some reason they have totally nixxed CGPersia - where I normally check for 3ds Max plugins (I was after ver. 5 of Corona Render).

At first I thought the site was down, as it is wont to do sometimes, but nah. I remote login to my work PC and check - totally fine.

No great shakes tbh as I avoid doing 3D outside my 9-5, but still. Those sly ISP motherfuckers.

I found out that I lost the job I was on, prior to covid, because the company wants to diversify. I was told they hired someone else and didn’t bring me back based ‘solely on the color of their skin’ (direct quote). I have to say, it was a real sword to the chest, especially after being unemployed for six months and blasting through any savings I had.

Because I'm infected with 'ciao' I often use it in emails when I see that the client is Italian, which I did on an enquiry earlier.

Said potential client just phoned up to confirm the order and said her name and I'm profoundly confused because she's clearly 110% Indian, haha. I'm guessing she's married an Italian and her forename is one of those that could as well be Indian as European.
