I think I've finally fixed my predictive spellcheck which was trained by some crafty little hands to screw up just about everything I type. I just cleared my predictive text library and FOR ONCE I can get through a post without sounding like an 11 y/o. Hallelujah!
Why was that settling buried so deep android??

I may have accidentally bought an HTC Vive.
I have a new minion to order around at work (which makes me a boss again, jesus fucking christ) and he comes with a background of making arch-viz VR using Unreal. I have dabbled with Unreal but never sat down with it at any great length but I recognise its potential for cool realtime shit.
Anyway. We have discussed expanding into VR at the office and I was always reticent mainly because I didn't have the time and was never fully convinced about it's potential - especially with the types of projects we do. To get one of our models into a workable state can be a hellish job.
But with New Guy we can start almost immediately with no real learning curve apart from my dumb ass and I think with his VR smarts and my visual
¬ a e s t h e t i c ¬
we have the potential to make some real fucking cool shit. I have seen what other outfits here do with their VR and to be honest, it's either bland garbage or stupid Lawnmower Man fuckery - my previous minion and prodigy told me they have tested VR at her office and they had giraffes and oranges and shit in their demo. Fucking what?! (she does great 2D stuff, btw).
So. We bought / built a new VR PC and got a Vive to go with it and the lightbulb suddenly went off and I got it - that flash of enthusiasm that has previously withered away to fucking nothing. The chance to begin again in the Offworld VR Colonies! To make my day-glo 2D creations in 3D? And be able to fly around that shit? Yes! And, by a magical coincidence, a store here was doing a promo on Vive setups - like, 15% off - so I thought, fuck it all to Hades and got one. I have been wondering about what where to take my career - do I go into games, or arch photography, or animation - but I think VR has the greatest scope for expansion, money, tits, and fun.
See you on the other side boys!
- we lack VR talk / threads on QBN... when / if you guys start to produce some stuff it'd make my day if you had a thread or at least shared in here.PonyBoy

- I'm really looking forward to digging into it. I'm excited about UE's realtime GI more than anything - light/shadow is my thing, I already have ideas for scenesface_melter
- Your final paragraph is sort of what I feel about VR - I certainly need some direction to go in to encourage and maintain interest in my future..detritus

Had the craziest moment at our local casino a couple nights ago. I was waiting outside the bathroom for my wife and there's this guy standing w/most of the back of his head to me but I SWEAR in my head that he's my friend from 15 years ago. I stood there for a good 30-40 seconds staring until he turned his head slightly so i could see most of his face to see it wasn't him.
My eye then catches my wife walking from the bathroom and I signal her to join me... she grabs my arm and we turn 180° to start walking towards the restaurant and THERE IS MY FRIEND from 15 years back that I just mistook someone else for standing right in front me... NOT KIDDING...
... I'm still a little fucked in the head over the coincidence. I usually make fun of 'Synchronicity' or anything along those lines as you can't prove them... but ffs this made me a bit of a believer.
- it's possible that your subconscious spotted him earlier and your conscious mind then projected your friend onto someone similarGnash

Got my mind fucked by a true leftist while I'm merely a half-stepping, left-leaning liberal centrist.

getting the weirdest dejavu .. its more remembering a snippets of a dream, but not really one I remember (i.e. its not like I woke up from it or anything) but I definitely remember dreaming it, but I am sure its from at least a few years ago..
yet for some reason, it keeps popping into my head- Déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.i_monk

Overheard at a bar yesterday where a bunch of coworkers were having a HH holiday themed thing...
One woman: "Yeah, thank you guys for not sexually harassing us"
Man: "Oh, we set the bar pretty low"

update to my "hooked up with the hottest girl at the wedding" saga
I flew up and spent a week with her and had an absolute blast. I kept waiting for the red flag or deal breaker to happen but there are no hangups or insecurities. We're completely open and comfortable with each other. STD tests came back clean so lots of sexy time.
One particular moment was just too damn romantic- stopped the car at an isolated pull out overlooking a lake. The sunset is unreal purples and oranges but honestly would rather look at her. And as soon as the car stops Ed Sheeran's cheesy ass "Perfect" song comes on the radio. She's straddling me in the passenger seat and for a split second I see her eyes light up mischievously and next thing you know she's pulled the smooth high school move of drop reclining the seat on me.
We're laughing so hard about how perfect, hilarious, sexy and romantic the whole situation is I'm actually crying and trying to kiss her. I flew back home with a sore mouth from talking, making out, and laughing.

Don't go deep into the woods when it's about to get dark in an hour y'all.
Stupid me and scary shit. Dropped my glove so I had to go back to get it. Double stupid!
And of course iPhone died on me at 100% battery when I needed the flash.

Just created testing account for:
Trello, Freedcamp, MeisterTask and Wrike.
These are probably more than what we actually need.
