Macbook Pro: 13 or 15 inch? Why is the 15 inch so much more?

    • AppleOBBTKN
    • No. Because the 15" has a dedicated gpu and the 13" does not. 15" has i7 cpus and the 13" has i5. Price diff is $400.monospaced
    • Plus double the memory and more ports.monospaced
    • what mono said... def go w/the 15 if you're going to be doing anything taxing.... you know... 'normal' creative work :)PonyBoy
    • The 13" should not be labeled Pro in the first place. It's not much better than the MacBook.monospaced
    • Remember that i5's and i7's in laptop land are both dual core. Not quad and 8 core.section_014
    • No. The 15" MacBook Pros have quad-core i7's, the 13" have dual-core.monospaced

Sitting on the train today a woman had their foot right on my seat touching my jacket. I just looked over into her optic stems and she took it down saying "ooh, I'm sorry!"

    I was so heated.
I took my headphones off and asked, "Where are you guys from", getting ready to berate them,

they smiled fukn wide as the day is long and said "We're from Argentina!" We chatted for a couple stops, the guy she was sitting next to seem to be beaming.

Got off at the next stop and told them to have fun in NY. Head went from rage to feeling connected to other human beings.

    • Why does it matter where they're from? Are you Argentinian?stoplying

After my night gig shooting at a festival. I went to buy cig and met the cutest girl outside. Sing and dancing, totally made me go awwwwwww. Then we starting chatting about death and rebirth. To kill a part of you and come out as a better person. The kind of subject you pretend to have a lot of thought of, to make your self seem spiritual and stuff. Everything was going so well then her boy friend walked out of the convenient store. *AWWW FUCK YOU!!!* i screamed in my head... NIGHT RUINED!

Thunderbolt is annoying. The adapters are tight and I don't want to buy more adapters just to use an SD card.

Last night I hooked up with the hottest girl at the wedding. It wasn't smooth, but I made it happen. Because she seemed way outta my league I was insecure before/during/after. I just kept thinking negative thoughts like "she can do better than me" and "she's going to regret this tomorrow" etc. I know I'm really working at improving this!

It was awkward in the morning and I ended up texting her later. Basically along the lines of "maybe it went too far, maybe it got a little weird, but I had fun, sucks you live far but I would like to work around that if you're interested". I was expecting her to not even respond. She responded positively to my surprise and there has been some back and forth and she actually does seem interested.

I'm feeling pretty good at this point, until one of my buddies friends texts him asking for her number. He was hitting it off with her and in my eyes seemed like she was way more interested in him. But he got too drunk and also had to carpool with others home. Now I just feel like he lives closer to her, looked good in a suit, told good stories- and once he hits her up it's all over for me. :/

thank you qbn for listening to my stupid little love life stories.

Does anyone have ADHD or live with someone here that does have it?

I'm struggling with my GF as she cant understand me having it. I think so much it often can come out hypocritical or not listening to her.

I know its not easy for her but she is extremely logical but to her its the old "why cant you just listen to me". I do listen to her but I've also had like 5 other conversations plus contemplated the meaning of life at the same time!

    • do you take medication? I've never been diagnosed but I took adderall recently and absolutely murdered a gig. I missed this in HS and College.shellie
    • are you showing her you're listening despite your multitasking? try repeating details back to her with your answer.shellie
    • I do repeat back but my ADHD affects my short term memory sometimesmugwart
    • Not on meds... dont want to sound old fashioned but I like to try and deal with things myself. sounds strange but try find a cure within myselfmugwart

    • so it comes down to compatibility and what kind of partner she wants to be to someone thats highly creative w/possible special needs, unmedicated. That's work.shellie

My boys go to this Nursery school and their website is just awful. I went in and spoke with the owner and asked if she'd be willing to exchange a few months tuition for a new site, promo video and photos. She seemed interested but says she'll think about it.
My wife tells me that they're not doing well financially and now I feel bad because I think a new site would help get them more students, but they probably can't afford a barter even.
I'm playing with Muse (never used before) to try to build a simple responsive site to show them what they could have. I feel like I should just build it to help them - they're really good people.
Any down sides to Muse that you guys know about?

    • i've had great results with Muse, especially with parallax scrolling motion effects, pixel perfect art. but I haven't tried it for anything truly responsivemonospaced

    • help them make fundraising money along with get new students. that will help them get more stuff they need to make their nursery school great.shellie
    • The passive financial gains from that kinda functionality will make more sense to them as far as a valuable exchange.shellie
    • Nice shellie, thanks for that.stoplying
    • i also suggest you show them a statement of work and budget for the website, show all your hard costs (plugins, any purchased code, images, etc). Show one columshellie

    • start building anything. In situations like this they can sometimes completely disrespect the value of the service you're providing.shellie
    • If their site is that terrible, maybe she thinks a new one would cost $300. Make a case on how much value she is getting.freedom
    • You could take the barter the next year or when they get a few new clients.eryx
    • I'd go with reduced rates. Money comes in and with hope of more prospects for them in the future.mugwart

I hate linkedin. I recently downloaded the app to my phone. Thiis morning I find a happy birthday message from the guy who's been sending sexually harrassing messages on my phone, then on Facebook and has now shown up in my linked in inbox because I forgot to block him there. ugh fuck this guy. hed be better off falling all the way back.
