Stripped the front of my car to replace the timing gear with new alloy timing gears. Put the whole lot back. Been driving around for weeks since.
A few days ago I realised couldn't remember using threadlocker. Then I started thinking that I might not have torqued the cam bolt up correctly.
Now have the terrors that my cam bolt is slowly working itself free behind the timing cover.
I either put that fear aside and drivea, but I risk engine failure, or I have to pull the front off my car again, strip back to the timing gear, and torque the bolt back up.
Either option is a massive pain in the ass.

i no longer hear samples in hip-hop and if I do I don't recognize that they are samples. it's like the first 20 years of hip-hop exhausted all the good samples in music. that or producers just quit digging.
there's still a lot of really good hip-hop out there today isn't there?
- masks off has that cool lo-fi sample in theresince1979
- It used to be free until Paul's boutique. Now rappers can't afford to pay the royalties. It used to be the Wild West._niko

It happened, we sat down and talked.
I let her start and was quiet the entire time as I listened to why she was unhappy.
Then it was my turn and I proceeded to do the same.I'm divorced since January after 5 years of marriage and a relationship of 9. She wanted to go too fast and I am not ready for that type of commitment again, just yet.

Is 3.5% of your annual income too much to spend on a couch?
Maybe this is an adulting rite of passage, but I've never spent so much on a piece of furniture...
- You can find free couches In alleyspango
- no it's not too much, not at all, and it's definitely an adult rite of passage thing, buying a $3,500 leather sofa :)monospaced

Finally got around to buying a nice desk chair to use at home after years of using some horrible thing from Ikea. Was set to consider the Steelcase Gesture, but didn't like the price ($1k+) and looked at the Steelcase Amia, and the Herman Miller Sayil.
In the end, a certified refurbished Aeron was the best option and under $500. I've had these before in offices, they're beasts in terms of durability. Working from home all week and can now do so in perfect comfort.
- I ended up getting a refurb Knoll Life Chair for about $500 too, and my back loves me for it :)monospaced
- i have the Aeron as well. been great so farGnash
- It was a necessary splurge purchase. Best part is that the arm wrests do go low enough to let me play guitar in it. That's been the biggest challenge in findingmg33
- a new chair.mg33
- lol, I've wondered why the arm rests went so low.Gnash
- I liked those steel cases. had one at my old job. Now I mostly stand at homefourth

Just found out there is a such a thing as Russia day from a coworker. And it's today. She brought treats and everything.
Funny, I've never heard of Russia day before.

Has anyone here ever had foot surgery that required ankle block anesthesia?
I'm getting a Cheilectomy to remove bone spurs on a big toe next month they will do the twilight anesthesia on me with an IV but they also obviously numb the hell out of the foot. As I usually do, I read and watch as much as I can about anything I'm having done. Watching the ankle block shots (there are five of them for the five nerves in the foot) makes me immediately go numb. But I don't faint, instead I laugh hysterically. It's the weirdest reaction to something like that.

Karma/asshole client story.
I helped my friend launch her business around 9 years ago. Did all her branding, identity and design. When she wanted to take it online I setup a CMS and designed a site for her. I also helped photograph and add inventory to the site for a long time afterward. Pretty much did all of that at cost or free.
Well she sold the business a year ago but is helping with the transition for a couple years before she walks away completely. The new owner ended up being a dick and fucked me over by stopping a project we agreed upon and not paying me. I took it as a lesson because I started the work without him signing the contract (big mistake I know). He told me he was going to do the site himself in Shopify despite having no design sense or knowledge on site domain, hosting, or technical know how. Ok fine you do that.
I let it all go because I have real clients and didn't want to interfere with my friend. Well turns out he never figured out Shopify and cancelled the original CMS without realizing that it was going to tank the site. So the site is toast and the trail leads him to me because I am the original domain registrar and have paid all registration fees for the past 7 years. He sent me passive aggressive emails/voicemails yesterday and even went as far as contacting 1and1 trying to gain access to my account and/or transfer the domain to himself.
See where this is going? According to my friend the actual domain was never listed in her contract to sell to him. Basically I got the guy by his balls now.

Found an old infomercial that I made back in 98 (?) I was a PA and this product had no budget, so my bosses let me bring the camera and lights home and make something. It's awful, but so funny to see because of the people in it.

Currently: Downloading via POP3 (so i don't fucking inadvertantly delete my emails again, ffs) about seven years worth of emails.
I'm watching my past spew in front of me as each day's minutiae download in front of me into the email client (I've use Webmail for about a decade now).
I've recently got past about 2014, and have witnessed the transition of emails from friends and then housemates to my current partner, her name flashing up increasingly.
Work changes, transitions from 'designer' (in the loosest possible terms) as my work moves over to another job, another email domain; Clients disappear and yet more signed-up for spam takes their place.
2016 now.
It's all spam.
