JP Morgan’s crypto’s is fake. It’s not a crypto currency at all, just blockchain to handle their ledgers.

XRP is getting sued by SEC over unregistered offering of 1.3 billion USD worth of coins.
Some exchanges stopped XRP trade and more can delist.
Price tanked.
Is it getting to a good place to buy or is it over for XRP?- in general nation states tend to look poorly on people/entities creating their own currencies out of thin air so I tend to believe the jig will be up soonerjonny_quest_lives
- than later... that being said expect a nationalized government backed cryptocurrency eventually. just don't count on any of these altcoins and or bitcoin beingjonny_quest_lives

- can you afford to lose $500 with the chance to make it $500,000? or 100 or 50 or 25?
if you follow the madness that is bitcoin you're almost a fool not to._niko - I can afford to lose much more for the probable returns. But that's just my style. I'd wouldn't trade penny stocks otherwise.Beeswax
- The XRP case is a whole different mess though. It seems like a lucrative habit for SEC to show the stick without a solid argument.Beeswax

I find all this shit totally confusing. Is the info on what and how to invest in intentionally elaborate? I just need someone to tell me something like, "Just take $1k and buy 20k Dogecoin and ignore it for ten years."
Like, I'm not buying Bitcoin at 30k+ a token, or Ethereum at $1.5k. But I'd totally throw away some money on a joke cryptocurrency if it only costs a half week's pay or less.
I'm also lazy and reading about this shit is reeaaaalllly fucking dull to me.
- I suppose even if someone was to tell me straight I'd be like "nah, you're talking shite, mate."5timuli
- you understand that you can buy fractions of a bitcoin right? you don't need to buy a whole coin. That's like saying you don't want to pay for a houseESKEMA
- that will value over time, and prefer to buy a tent.ESKEMA
- do not invest in doge. seriously.inteliboy
- Understandable it’s dull to you since you absolutely nothing at all about it.monospaced
- If you want to invest a little you can do that.monospaced

Zora is the Everything Exchange. It’s where anyone in the world can buy, sell and trade limited-edition goods and art.
when you buy an item, you get a redeemable token. By buying, the price of the item go up. You can sell the token at market value making the price go down. If you redeem the token, it gets burnt and you get your item delivered.
- and also https://zora.co/ESKEMA
- burnt?cherub
- a token burn is basically destroying it, usually by sending it to a special address that no one can have access to, thus removing it from circulation.ESKEMA

Another project I'm closely following is Sia, specifically Skynet with SkyID enabling all kinds of decentralized possibilities like Skyfeed.
Coupled with Handshake, this will be a backbone of the new web3.Skynet

Crypto is "Decentralized?" Nah, it's more like "centered around Elon's Tweets." He sends a tweet and the sheep follow in herds.
He is playing god and enjoying it.Power to the people? Yet crypto value is manipulated by the wealthiest person on Earth? Ironic, no? Am I missing something?
I dunno. What's happening is all very hype-y and surreal.
Not sure how all this will play out long term.

- It'll be a drop. not now. Learn to deal with it.isaca
- I don't think anyone claimed crypto is going to bring about equality. The originators were libertarians who believe in a Ron Paul or Ayn Rand sort of worldview.yuekit
- Decentralized however is a different issue. In order to make good on decentralization there needs to be a further step where exchanges are eliminated.yuekit
- Truth. There's no way something that can so easily be manipulated will ever last.formed
- The decentralization and ease of transfer is great, the lack of any backing /control /stability is a killer.formed

The crypto craze reminds me of the Internet craze of 1998-2002
Anyone remember that?
I had something like 50,000 option in an Internt consulting company that went public in 2001. They failed. If they had survived and thrived I would probably be a rich man right now.
Tons of people were millionaires, then not, in one day during that time.
It was insane
- I remember vividly. I lost a nice amount. Painful lesson that so many are making now. Even the market is beyond crazy.formed
- With the CryptoArt thing taking off I definitely see the comparison. I know two people who make a decent living with just crypto. Doesn't seem real. But it is.PhanLo
- Except back then there were businesses. Totally different in every way.monospaced

It's a clash of generations that happen with every new generation. The young generation is backed by the advancements of technology and they disrupt the old ways in explosive events, like we saw with the internet, cellphones and now crypto. The new generation always wins, even if so because in time the old eventually die.

This is an intriguing article...
Bitcoin’s rise reflects America’s decline
Bitcoin’s rise reflects the belief in some parts of the investor community that the US will eventually come in some ways to resemble Weimar Germany, as post-2008 financial crisis monetary policy designed to stabilise markets gives way to post-Covid monetisation of rising US debt loads.
