Tried to protest against the EU by burning the EU flag. The flag didn't light due to EU regulations on flammable materials.

Well the EU's just fucked it's future relationship with Britain up entirely. Nicely done.

The Spanish now have carte blanche to force their stubborn infantile flavour of diversionary politics across the entire continent, no matter the cost.

    Excellent work.

    • opened the door to some dickhead behaviour on all sides. There really are no grown-ups in politics, anywhere.Fax_Benson
    • The problem with the system is that you have to be a certain type of dickhead in the first place to actually want to be a politician
      ********
    • What relationship? They want to hit the UK hard as they can to make their exit a cautionary tale for the others.raf
    • Hello there, Raf. Yes, obviously - but this is another step beyond the level of obstinance relevant or expected from Brexit.detritus
    • And lest we forget,'relationship... is a broad and non-specific term, not necessarily implying 'positive' or 'healthy'.detritus

the gibraltar issue was discussed before the vote

    • I think it was understood that the petulant spanish 'government' would use it as an opportunity to throw sand in the gears, but this is the EU giving them quartdetritus
    • ..quarter. This is essentially the EU sanctioning obstinance from outside the realm of the argument.detritus
    • I still remember 1992, before the EU, at school in Gibraltar. Whatever happens won't be the end of the Earth, so fuck the EU. "Die, EU, Die".detritus
    • Picardo knew what the Spanish would do - they're predictable if nothing else. rouble is language makes some think there is a "table" to actually argue.detritus
    • There isn't. Gibraltar is British and always will be until the Gibraltarians decide otherwise. Anything else is a shit on the conceits of the EU and UN'sdetritus
    • ..raison d'etre.detritus
    • the UK should just class Gibraltar as part of the mainland, as the French and Dutch quietly do and be done with it.detritus
    • ...Falklands too.detritus
    • The place is an interesting, weird colonial bubble. I love the monkeys, bulldogs and pubs. Talking to a Brit in Spanish kills me, who'd a thunk it.robotron3k
    • the situation for gibraltarians is particularly shaky because they voted to remain because they voted 95.9% to remain in the EU with 84% turnoutlowimpakt
    • Why's that in any way shaky for them?
If anything, one would expect the EU to then capitalise on that fact, not let the Spanish fuck everything up.
      detritus
    • I can guarantee you that the vast bulk of Gibraltarians distrust and dislike the Spanish more than they do love the EU. They're more British than most Brits.detritus
    • A lot of people over here don't appreciate that.detritus
    • "*also,* they're more British than the Brits".
I didn't mean to imply that a dislike and distrust of the Spanish is an inate fucntion of being British.

    • That comes from having franco close a border for 15 years, trapping a population of thirty thousand people on a very small isthmus.detritus
    • That comes from, to this today, the Guardia Civil randomly fucking the supposedly free border over, causing 3-8 EIGHT) hour queues to cross the frontier.detritus
    • That comes from constant stupid Spanish distractionary politicking, against an entity that provides jobs and economic focus to Spain, in an impoverished partdetritus
    • I can tell you I almost had a tear in my eye when Gib was the first to vote in Brexit, with that turnout and that stupid-high percentage. It's all a mess.detritus
    • And i can tell you that I love Spain and [most] Spanish people. But their Government is a piece of shit, and now soo too, apparently, the EU. Fuck 'em.detritus

I think I'll have to stop watching BBC Questions time.

Loads of Brexit enthusiasts lambasting Remain voters for referring to them as hateful xenophobes. Huge round of applause.

Seconds later. Dickheads arms goes up...

"When are we going to stop spending AID money on foreigners and spend it on our own instead?" Another round of applause.

Meanwhile, our Government is cosying up to despots and Islamic States for arms deals to replace EU trade.
