Looks nice!OBBTKN - Iveco Magirus :)jagara

Post more pics along your trip.palimpsest - Tak! Low maintenance cost, sure ;)OBBTKN

- Woah, I drove these Ivecos in the army. Not my favourite tool, but was probably because it was in the army. :)Longcopylover
- It's an army truck that he got a great deal on. It had only driven 50.000 km. Which for a truck of this kind is basically new.jagara
- It's an under-powered 80s model, though :)jagara
- But yeah. 4 bunks, full kitchen, shower, toilet, air conditioning. All home built.jagara
- He even incorporated a waste oil processing system. The thing runs partially on old motor and frying oil. He can get fuel for free this way.jagara
- But mostly it runs on diesel, of course.jagara
- And yes, he's thinking of downgrading. This thing doesn't exactly scream climate change consciousness :)jagara

- I will and share. Doing the framing atm and installing solar powered fans on the baffles to fix the sweaty factor. If anything, its freezing at night.cannonball1978

Amazon is now selling prefabricated modular mobile container homes for $99k & free shipping.
- I like a nice prefab but I'm struggling with 'Amazon' and 'off the grid' in the same sentence...MrT
- free shipping. damnGnash
- Something sad about living in a container, I dont know whydrgs
- do I get it in 2 days with prime?zarkonite
- Estonian company https://qhaus.eu/cli…microkorg
- Well, it looks nice. Doesn‘t look like a container. I like it. But you still must own land, yes? HeheNBQ00
- I don't think that house is Amazon ...atomholc

Guess this would be the place to post this. My son and I are going to build a solar powered shower for the truck roof rack tomorrow. I will post some pics when it's done or video when it explodes.

- Are you using a pressurized tank?scarabin
- Yes, pressurized. Project got bumped, but I need it done by June. Hoping for this weekend.lemmy_k
- Thanks, cannonball. Used that link as a shopping list. We finished the shower. Just needs mounted and a hose.lemmy_k

I kind of just did this. Bought an rv in 2013. Just moved into it for the summer while I'm traveling. It has a very powerful generator - I could power a large party all night if I wanted. I can hook up my flash dryer screen printing (has an outdoor outlet). I've got a shower, heat, air conditioning, full kitchen including a confection oven. It actually sleeps 7 people (one queen bed, one full bed, one full sized bunk and one single bed) but right now is just me and my boyfriend. My workspace is more comfortable than what I had at home.

https://instagram.com/p/0eUXJNoj…- I would like to install some solar pannels. It's big enough to get some nice big full sized panels up top and cut generator use down.shellie
- Although my utilities are much cheaper per month without those improvementsshellie
- How much does one of those cost? Looks awesome, good for you!!davey_g
- I scooped this one for 20 stacks. About 5-6 grand for repairs. One previous owner. A nice, clean, retired couple. Barely used. Low milage.shellie
- It's a 1991 Fleetwood limited. Custom grey/black paint job males it look younger than it is. Rebuilt engine and tyranny too.shellie

- I drive from sf to right outside la county not far from 6 flags on one tank. That's 350 mi.shellie
- That's def the cheapest way to move and house and cook for a band of 6 guys on the road which is why I have it.shellie
- what band is it?dbloc
- My life partner is a solo artist that performs with a full backing band. His name is Johnny Polygon. I also manage him.shellie
- just listening to the nothing - not bad at all.hans_glib

- Yeah were do you get the wood from down there with no trees for miles?
Unrealistic CGIgrafician - at these places the pre-assembled wood for the winter is stored in separate buildings.sted

Where do you build if you are trying to limit your exposure to the effects of climate change?
I want to grow my own food as much as possible and still have internet access.
- north portugal.shapesalad
- I have a place upstate NY, and I love it, but I’d stump for somewhere moderate. Winters not too cold (water freezes), warm (not dry) summershardhat
- Make sure you have access to water. It is a game changer. I have satellite internet, but you have to have line of sight to satellite (lots of plots don’t)hardhat
- Good advice. I'm thinking about how can I buy land with access to water and near-guarantee that I'll have access to that water in a few decades from now...nb
