Update: NASA released a statement clarifying its involvement, saying this study "was not solicited, directed or reviewed by NASA. It is an independent study by the university researchers utilizing research tools developed for a separate NASA activity."

with google available,
why are still people grasping at the overpopulation nonsense,
https://overpopulationisamyth.co…but the most irritating shit, is that we are not the one culpable from destroying this planet, most of the destroying was done by corporations who didn't give a shit how much land they polluted, how many trees they cut, how many fuckn people they collaterally killed... (google it for more)
http://www.onegreenplanet.org/an…but for the simple minded it's all the fault of those people in poor countries that reproduce like crazy when it was proven, peer reviewed and tripple checked that we will be hitting a birth bottleneck in 20/30 years, you want a perfect example, just look at what is happening in western countries, and countries like china and japan,
for fucks sakes, they are selling more adult diapers in japan then baby diapers, http://www.bloomberg.com/news/vi…
man sperm count have never been that low, I'm talking about a 20 point drop in the span of a generation (not cited in this article) http://www.independent.co.uk/new…meanwhile china is pushing human reproductive clinic to the cutting edge of science and creating the ubermenschen, while we're debating how we should feel guilty about how we "killed" the planet,
I can't wait for this planet to wipe us out and start again like it did many times before, maybe next time it will be a success
- "thats just how we was raised to believe"yurimon
- We are the corporations.ApeRobot
- corporations are people but we're def not corporationsgeorgesIII
- What i meant was ,we (the people) buy those products. They (corporations) relies on the customers to survive.ApeRobot
- whatever,...i do not disagree with what you've said.ApeRobot
- tell me how many corporations exec got prosecuted for ravaging this planet and causing damages to millions if not billions of people, if we keep on dividinggeorgesIII
- ourselves into subsections of class/color/believes... we will never see that we're are getting screwed lubless while those in power are laughing their way to thegeorgesIII

Even if the world population peaks at some point in the future (and keep in mind those are just predictions), there are a huge number of people compared with just a couple thousand years ago.
Not saying people should stop having kids or anything like that, but the danger is probably still on the side of too many people rather than too few. Considering that basically every environmental issue is the result of population growth, it's questionable whether you can really call overpopulation a myth.
- have you looked at the birthrate of dev countries lately, this planet could easily support a lot more people if only we managed it better, but it's dog eat doggeorgesIII
- and we're one earthquake/volcano/s... from going back to caves, I wish we would treat this planet with more respect but humans are just intelligentgeorgesIII
- We SHOULD stop having kids. But no leader has the balls to say it. We do not need more humans on this planet.iCanHazQBN
- Population grows EXPONENTIALLY (see this graph) and it's extremely dangerous.iCanHazQBN
- animals and often forget who calls the shots, so check the pattern of development because in half a century, western white population won't exist anymore, notgeorgesIII
- because foreigners are fucking more, but because developed country don't want children, want only one, without realising that we have to procreate if we want ageorgesIII
- a future,
fuck I hate writing here eheheh :)georgesIII
- yurimon1
- Fit? Physical space is not the issue. It's about every person's carbon footprint and all of the resources it takes to keep us going.iCanHazQBN
- All of the land it takes to grow the food we eat, the trees we chop down to make houses, the pollution in the air etc that destroy the planet and eventually us.iCanHazQBN
- i do not always upvote yuri,but when i do....ApeRobot
- Overfishing is a big problem. Imagine a couple decades from now not being able to get nice fresh fish, or it costs insane amountyuekit
- he mentions it a management issue. you can manage the planet and have some form of luxury, grow food. its upto everyone how you live. just need dump de edictionyurimon
- yep, but like 90% is desert and uninhabitable..autoflavour

Apart from the horrible Americanised lack of an 'and' before the last word, I have to say I whole heartedly concur with my friend and nemesis in utterly unequal parts, Mr Detritus on this strikingly poignant sentiment from the first page...
Read again and then get back to your shitty lives until you die a meaningless death and leave behind and even more futile dirge of memories for your utterly inconsequential wadges of degenerated dna you call family to mourn over.
"The obvious thing left out of statements like "All historical empires have collapsed under their own weight.." is the fact that humanity blundered on regardless, unless I'm a starving Mesopotamian caught up in some weord hallucination, of course.
The fall of Rome didn't mean the sudden death of however million Romans that existed back then. The Mesopotamian empires transmogrified into other entities, people moved, some people died. All the rest survived and perpetuated their lineages.
Evolution requires failure, otherwise we'd remain mired in ignorant stasis.
Knowing everything you know - do you even want the status quo to live on forever? Of course not.
We're smart creatures, some of us'll get though and do even greater things in future.
Just make sure you're one of them, so stop whinging and go do something."
- You can have good collapse. Its obviously corporatist hard core now. if that goes its ok. nobody wants to do anything till the water is already boiled.yurimon
- I think the whole point made was that collapse is good, yuri geller********
- to some extent brother of Osiris, its those who are deeply dependent on the system that suffer. and before rome fell it was crazy suffering. property rightsyurimon
- taken away, citizens became slaves. but its different now. you have scientific extermination methods, it going to be worse if people dont bail nowyurimon
- or smarten up to stand together, that includes dumb order follower like cops. god these fuckers are stupid. all for a paycheck.yurimon
- I am Setesh, God of foreigners.********
- Where should we bail to? And why haven't u bailed alreadyreanimate
- non participation in the scheme. helps if you have land, supplies alternative to cash. anything trade able. corporations are subverting the system to fascism.yurimon
- people have to come together in action to boot these fcker out the country, helps if dumb cops smarten up and everyone united. gets past their divided selvesyurimon
- So without corporation...I have no car, no computer, no internet connection...I guess I can grow food and build a house but lots of work. Doesn't sound like areanimate
- very good life or worth trade offreanimate
- there are lots of small companies worth our patronage. big companies use legislature to keep competitive and stifle innovation. look up gm and street car systemyurimon

- Reanimate is forgetting that people built all of those things...********
