I am no more interested in buying the watch than I was before. Impressive device, but I like the variety of watches I have too much to dedicate myself to some computer watch.

Research Kit was the coolest thing they talked about yesterday.
I have MAJOR issues with the watch. They didn't give one reason that justifies the $350 price tag, let along a $10k one.
- did Pebble give a good reason to justify their $250 price tag? What about Samsung Gear's $350 tag?monospaced
- No. They are all frivolous tech as of right now.jasontroj

Is technology small enough to make something so useful AND powerful? I'm optimistic, but also not bothered. Wouldn't mind seeing some new innovation though.

It'd be refreshing to read an article about why the watch may be useful, how it could actually be a hit, or why the new macbook is a nice push into the future, or how Apple are NOT doomed. Seriously. Every punter out there has been writing the same Apple-have-no-idea-what-they-are... article, about every Apple product, again and again for decades. Isn't the definition of insanity to do the same thing over and over and over again?

Apple has overtaken Coca-Cola as the Best Global Brand for 2013, with a brand value of just over $98,000 million USD. The soft drink giant had topped the list for the previous 13 years making Apple’s victory even more momentous. Google also overtook Coca-Cola, coming in at second place with a 34% growth and just over $93,000 million USD in value. That these two tech giants have overtaken a brand as iconic as Coca-Cola signals a big shift in consumerism, and only points towards the rapidly growing digital age we live in today. The recent record-breaking launch of the iPhone 5c/5s only confirms how hungry for technology we are. Unsurprisingly, more than half of the top ten are technology brands, while many fashion brands made the list as well.

Then with watches, there is another problem; Apple makes luxury or at least premium products. A Watch that is luxury costs way more than casual Apple products, so even a $1000 Apple watch would not be worn if the owner has a $10.000 Breitling watch.
I think this is the main reason not to build a Samsung Galaxy Gear-like form factor device.
- by watch I don't think they are trying to compete with luxury timepieces - this is wearble tech - nothing to do with fashion watches.fadein11
- you could essentially have one on each wrist. Having either or either wrist instantly makes you a cunt anywayset
- damn, I didn't know you had a $10k breitlingmonospaced
- No, he didn't.eoin
- @mono lol I'm a designer, too broke for a watch at all :/mekk
