You speak/argue about our heritage while endorsing Harper's attempts to dismantle the canadian values (health care, culture, environment). If being canadian means supporting a new value system that does not reflects the one intertwine within our heritage, well I guess I can not consider myself canadian either (not that I'm a separatist either).
Have you ever left Calgary ETM? Because if you would have, you certainly would not call the French Canadian culture BS.

For the love of God, I never called French culture BS. As before, I'll ask you to reread. The BS I was referring to is when some separatists wish to pick and choose the aspects of separation, rather than do it full tilt if it came to that. In short I think separatism is BS, not French (Canadian) culture. I also don't think french canadian culture needs to separate from a country that prides itself on diversity and bilingualism to thrive. Sure, not perfect, but what is.

You might also remember that aspects of French Canadian culture exists in many parts of Canada outside Quebec including New Brunswick (technically the only bilingual province) and Nova Scotia amongst others. French Canadian culture is more than just Quebec and is a part of our nation in whole.

I'm voting Liberal as they are the only ones capable of stewarding the country. The Conservatives, beyond their pathological hatred for Canadian culture and democratic institutions, are simply complete noobs when it comes to managing an economy. Cutting taxes and spending like a drunken sailor does not an economy make.

So benfal, I'm curious: what's the long-term plan for Quebec, in the event of secession? Sit on your own and try to make the best of it, despite the obvious disadvantages? Try to get France to reintegrate you, and make you an overseas department/territory, despite the linguistic and cultural differences, so you can be part of the EU? We keep hearing about how Quebec supposedly wants to separate, but never about how it plans to make a go of it, if it actually does happen.

I'm a french-canadian from ontario living and working in montreal. i live in Gilles Duceppe's electoral district and that is frustrating as hell. I agree with most policies suggested by the Bloc. But the fact that they push for separation for me is a big 'hell no'.
The separatist rhetoric has not evolved since the last referendum in 1995. I hear this old crap so often I should print out TIMELINE business cards.
