- I hate American Football, BUT love the culture. This show from Season 1 shows it at its finest from an interesting perspective. Immersive and unique.ideaist
- What about the culture do you love?stoplying
- The idea that many have that "Football is religion". How serious grown folks take a sport. Etc.ideaist
- ideaist0
- Part of the same team responsible for the above (I think) released this a bit back; I grew up across the pond (Ontario) from here and this strikes deep.ideaist
- I don't have the stomach to watch it... moved back to MI 2 years agocanoe
- ^ Where about @canoe? Born & raises? I'm from Chatham, Ontario about 0:45 from Detroit. Lots of time in MI in my youth; camping, music, shopping, etc.ideaist
- Traverse City now, but I played hockey in London, Mooretown, Sarnia, Goderich, and would go to Amherstburg every summer, plus Grand Bend and Tobermory for scubacanoe
- I'm always up in Traverse City, live in East Lansing.ShenanigansTV
- I have such fond memories of Michigan; camping in Port Huron. Auto Shows in Detroit. Haven't been back BUT aim too asap. Drove through on the way to Kentucky...ideaist
- ...Flint specifically wasn't looking too well; pretty heartbreaking.ideaist

Just finished this, it was fantastic. Aside from the flow of the story, the production company does an unbelievable job capturing game footage, pub footage, back office transfer shit, and just absolutely nailed it. Loved this.
- I really enjoyed the first series, the second is on my list ready to watch.Wolfboy
- yup. good doc series.renderedred
- loved it, looking forward to S03Gardener

Absolutely loving this series. Jordan was my hero growing up and it's surreal to see him and the team in this light.
- One of the best of 2020Ramanisky2
- I watched a few episodes and had the "I don't want to see how much of an asshole my hero is" moments. Incredibly immersive, though.ideaist
- Yeah, and that's a subject they dive into more, and his teammates and other insiders attribute this to his mentality and ultimately to their dominance.SteveJobs
- His natural talent, passion, and hard work made him god-like, but he had to push everyone on his team to be better as his greatness alone wasn't enough to win.SteveJobs
- I loved how he could take motivation from anyone or anything. The slightest provocation from another player getting MVP or talking trash to him.SteveJobs
- "Nice game, Mike."SteveJobs
- The “Nice game, Mike” line was that guy‘s undoing. But the best part was that he never said it. Mike was just pumping himself up for the next game.Ramanisky2
- Haha yeah, that had me rolling. Lot's of good moments - and very well orchestrated through the story telling too.SteveJobs
- And not gonna lie I teared up a little when he was sobbing on the floor after their finals victory in his dad's absence. Definitely felt for him on that oneSteveJobs

Finished watching The Umbrella Academy last night ... that show should have been way, way, way more awesome than it was.
Conceptually, it could have been a lot of fun. But, wow ... most of the cast have no chemistry together. Zero. Nul. the only ones I found more or less fun/compelling on-screen were the kid who plays Five, the one who plays Klaus, and the guy who plays Diego.
And I'm really disappointed with Ellen Page* in this; normally, she's really great to watch, but here it's like she was terminally bored. No presence to speak of, just phoned her performance in.
And the whole Diego trying to prevent Kennedy from getting assassinated thing in S02 didn't have a leg to stand on. All Five had to do in the first episode or two of the season was tell him that if Kennedy didn't die, the timeline would get fucked up; especially since Five saw the front page of a newspaper showing that Kennedy declared war on the Soviets.
This whole thing reminds me of Heroes, actually. Pretty decent first season, then a whole shitload of wasted potential.
*Fun fact: Ellen Page is from Halifax, Canada — where I started my career in the early noughties — and her dad ran an agency there, and I freelanced for him.
- Is that not part of her and her character here's schtick though? I felt she was good in 1st series - haven't watched much of 2nd so far.Nairn
- I was thinking that it was supposed to be part of her thing, that she was numb on the meds ... but it really came off as her wishing she was anywhere ...Continuity
- ... but on that show.Continuity
- I COMPLETELY disagree. This show kicks so much ass it's ridiculous. You're thinking way too much.fyoucher1
- Easy, fella. I'm not saying I hate it. I'm just saying it could use a few improvements.Continuity
- The characters are exteremly dumb that it becomes frustrating to watch, Esp. 1st season.Beeswax
- Yeah, there's not a lot of common sense between them, is there?Continuity
- ok_not_ok1
- This show just makes me feel like an old fart.fyoucher1
- Really had a blast watching both seasons. Although I will say that last episode was a bit dark in tone compared the entire series.Ramanisky2
- Season 1 was pretty good. Season 2 had way too much Larusso. His arc just isn't interesting.DRIFTMONKEY
- Loved it! Very high school teen angst, almost feels like I'm watching a kids show but I was hookedProjectile
- Ramanisky23

- I’ve always found this overrated and hokey. As dated as it is, I prefer Michael Mann’s take on the character material in Manhunter.Wolfboy
- I prefer Red Dragon as a story and I definitely prefer Brian Cox as Hannibal. No scenery chewing.Wolfboy
- Still a masterpiece but I’m with Wolf too. Manhunter edges it.MrT
