I can appreciate the bold and stylish throwback to the 70s like advant garde like type. However, I can surely appreciate some aspects from the common and generic direction. Such as the functional value the red would have on on the news and amongst other news stations. In comparison, I know which of the two is actually television related. I can surely appreciate clean and simple, but there more room for simplification here to make more room for communicating the station's values.
