Mac vs PC for design

I'm sure there are a ton of forums out there that are discussing this, but I'd love some of your opinions. I'm starting a new job at a company in a few weeks. I'll be working on their marketing team as the designer. They're a software/IT company that is growing, and thus wants to produce better looking designs).
Now my question is, is designing on a PC worse/different than designing with a Mac? They're looking into getting me a Mac, but they all use PCs. I told them it would be better to use a mac, but if need be I can adapt as long as the software is available. They're looking into it haha.
So yeah, Mac vs PC.. is there a huge difference when it comes to graphic design?
Thanks in advance!

NO, FFS A MILLION TIMES NO.

I find macs nicer to work with generally. Same software on both though so doesn't matter.

thats like saying can a mac or pc make you a better designer?

oh, by the way - best of luck in trying to convince your entrenched bunch of IT nerds to fork out for that shiny Apple you've got your eye on - I'm sure they'll love every mote of qualified, quantified research data you've drawn from a bunch of random design nancies.

it's a tool - nothing more.
ruminate on this: "more thought and less buttonclicking"

- I thought that said "buttlicking" on first glance...TheBlueOne
- That's because you see what you want to see. Freak.

I generally find my workflow a little more efficient on a mac (mostly from OS and UI functionality). But otherwise... it's just a tool. While I generally prefer a dixon ticonderoga #2 pencil for sketching I certainly don't let that hold me up if I can't find one.
to reiterate: "more thought and less buttonclicking"

There's no real difference in terms of what you can do, and it doesn't sound like you have a strong preference one way or the other. But all else being equal, I'm assuming you want the best quality UI, the best looking screen to design on, etc...
So....get a Mac.
There's a reason why Macs tend to dominate in our industry. If you want to run Office or the latest first person shooter, get a PC. Didn't you see those "I'm a Mac" commercials, lol that tells you all you need to know basically.

ffs... a Venus HB, a good pad of paper and then fuck everything else - it is much a like a toaster - sitting there waiting for you to use - "more thought and less buttonclicking"

- lol - exactly - and a sense of humour is computer independent...********

get whichever you feel more comfortable with. max out the ram and you'll be set either way.
if they're all using pc, getting you a pc might be a bit easier overall from an i.t./setup perspective.
with a mac and them all being pc you're probably going to run into printer and network issues if they don't know what they're doing, but if your savvy enough you can probably set it all up yourself. if there's ever any compatibility issues you can always install and run windows on it.
either way, whatever you're more comfortable with. there is no difference.
- This. I use the only mac in a software company of 170 people. Printing is fine but network drives are hellrascuache

macs look nicer, OS runs nicer. Macs are lighter, generally, slimmer, longer battery, more stable.
PCs are cheaper
Both do the same thing

I'd say drop the all design thing, and choose a new career! Design is just a pain in the ass!

A Mac will make you look better. People will see you sitting there behind the Mac Pro or iMac and they will think, damn she is creative.
Trust me, no one wants to see a designer using a PC.
