A law firm added a Tizzano and wants the word mark changed. There's detail work left to be done like kerning, proportions and such... I'm wanting to get a few more sets of eyes on it before I get to dialed in.
Thanks qbn.

1 or 3 are rubbing me the right way.
1 because it's not your expected roman serif
3 because i like the play of the ampersand + rules.

If i had to pick one i'd say 1. but honestly none of these are really doing anything for me. it's a tough job though. not sure what you can do.

other than a formal, typographic solution - are you looking at broader concepts? Might be too much for the lawyer types (speaking from experience) but to sell one idea over the other, it might be nice to qualify your type choice(s)... These guys tend to be linear thinkers, so the best you can do to make it a A + B = C the better for you, i think...

Is the ampersand even necessary?

1, 2 are working for me. For god sake how must information do they need in a bloody logo.

I swear, I've seen 5 before. I apologize for my not-so-helpful comment. 6 is the most unique and interesting, in my opinion.

1 works best, not thrilled about the generic scale at the top but i guess it does balance the garbage at the bottom. Maybe replace it with a cool monogram?
3 is closest and most natural evolution from the old logo but the giant "&" screws up the spacing between the names.

3.
4 isn't "traditional old school layers", and 2, 5 and 6 lack balance. 1 has too much balance, with that literal scale on top.

1 for me
3 for them

definitely 2, but change that ampersand.

What if you did, like, a 1 with the ampersand arranged like in 3?
Also, the "attorneys at law" typeface looks horrendous on all except 2 and 3 (where they sort of match the style of the rest of the mark). When combining sans and serifs proportions are your friend, pay close attention to them. Also its usually a no-no to set small caps with a large cap like that...

i really like the "OLD" logo and number 3 really emphasizes the original logo. It implies that it's the same "hopefully" great law firm with a newly added partner. The others talk a little too much emphasis on unnecessary design. Graphically speaking, number 3 could use a lot of tightening and rebalancing with spacing and ornamentation.

Your work is very nice, but to be honest, I like the original logo's proportions. Tizzano really screwed the pooch here!
