- I'm wondering if the team owners won't allow the skating while he's under contract—too much money spent training him—expensive too to lose himPonyBoy

- Skateboarding is a relatively low-injury sport. It would be like telling him he can't play golfnb
- Ok maybe not golf, but it would be like saying "no recreational basketball" ha!nb
- well.. the NBA doesn't let it's players skydive, hang glide or even ride a motorcycle or a fucking moped...PonyBoy
- The NFL's stance is less specific: “any activity other than football which may involve a significant risk of personal injury.”
... thus my question.PonyBoy - I mean, it's relatively low-injury to a point. Your ankles and wrists are in the line of fire more than most activities though...ben_

- How old are you?omahadesigns
- Mid 40s. She chose this deck herself, i'd found a dozen that'd suit and she chose that one. Red being her favourite colour.microkorg
- Powell do it in Pastel Mint too which is lovely and what I was hoping she'd choose lol. Wheels are Venom Clouds btw. If you want some cheap soft 78a wheels...microkorg
- .. from 54-66mm at £27! Highly recommend! Ventures have bushings from my new Thunders in them cos old ones were fuct (from circa 2000)microkorg
- She also got helmet and full pads set. Lucky girl! Next we just gotta convince mummy that a 2ft half pipe in the back garden is a great idea.microkorg

Recommendations please.
My daughter appears to be a natural at skateboarding (yes I know I would say that).
She was given a cheap fixed (don't know the terminology) skateboard that won't turn - she can only go in a straight line ha.
Her balance is great though, better than mine ever has been.
So, does anyone know a good entry level brand for children (she's nearly 6) ?
Thought I would treat her during lockdown. Nothing too expensive but not something that's going to break quickly etc.
Thanks.
- did you loose the trucks?uan
- https://youtu.be/10L…uan
- Yeah tried loosening the main bolts on bottom but they only move a bit then stop...
Excuse terminology, I have never skated :)fadein11 - that yt braille dude is really top for learning. you should be able to remove those bolts completely.uan
- penny boards are also fun for kids. lightweight and ‚fast‘ :) anything you give them that rolls is fun at that age:)uan
- thanks mate, appreciated.
found this site, should I go for the small size as she is so young? or one to grow into. Only cheap I guess so may not matter.fadein11 - https://www.skatehut…fadein11
- look for a freestyle skateboard for starters. once she's got basics down on that, you can give a regular onesrhadden
- are any on the above link one of those? Again I really haven't got a clue on this.fadein11

- Penny boards are shit for learning tricks, but if it's just for cruising around they're fine I guesssrhadden
- thanksfadein11
- Pennyboards are great for kids to learn balance and cruising, they're tough as hell and they won't wear out shoes. It's a great start.nb
- As soon as she wants to do tricks, you need to buy a new skateboard. This is overthinking it, but: https://shop.ccs.com…nb
- Oh it sounds like she's already got the balance and pushing down? Get something to do tricks on!nb

- These completes are a bargain, look for something on the smaller side: around 7.5" wide. She'll grow into it.nb
- nice one, thanks!fadein11
- See my post below. Enjoi do great starter completes and the trucks are tensor and wheels decent too. not ALL budget stuff.microkorg

anyone got their kid one of those 'soft foam top' skateboards?
got a wee 3yo girl here who's wanting a board. i dont want to get a supermarket shite thing as it'll hinder any form of learning.
Enjoi do 6.75" boards with tensor trucks but instead of griptape its a soft foam.
Figured this foam is better for her wee bro (1) more if he wants to sit on it and play too.
it any good or would i just be better sourcing a 6.75-7" board and putting regular grip on it?
- No experience, but a friend did the rubber grip tape and it was pretty great, just made the board heavier.nb
- Actually not sure rubber grip is still available that was like 20 years ago lolnb
- Regular griptape, I reckon. She's probably gonna fall on the ground, not on the board.section_014
- My 2 cents which are probably worth nothing... just get her started on a regular board and she'll grow into it. I just set up my daughter's first. She loves it.ben_
- https://www.instagra…ben_
- i don't think you can go wrong with one of those foamy boards at all though.ben_
- Ben_ awesome pic. What size board did you get her?microkorg
- It’s huge... 8.65 p7 polar deck. 60mm longboard wheels. She’s too little by a long shot but she scoots on her but and tries to imitate my ollies. Which is scaryben_
