last summer was really bad for me, got put on paxil for about 6 months, worked like a charm. but I also changed a lot of circumstances in my life that caused the stress. and cut way back on the alcohol.

sometimes. Low – mid level anxiety. Especially when deadlines loom, or when i have a lot on my plate.
I find that the only thing that helps is being productive toward those goals. Oh, and some light self medication...

Sounds like you need anti-depressants. What better time to start a physical dependency to prescription drugs!

I used to have it pretty bad but I learned the simple steps that really help and with practice keep it well under control.
1. acknowledge your having a panic attack
2. say to yourself I'm not going to die.
3. acknowledge that it's going to pass.Sounds too simple but it worked for me. BTW I don't have them any more.

I never knew what a panic attack was. I grew up with a brother who had schizophrenia, so I was always afraid of going crazy like him and bringing the stress that my family faced.
When I was 14 I was hit with a feeling of anxiety and thought I was going crazy. It was the hardest summer of my life, plus moving to a new city and new school. So I would get episodes of panic attacks that summer, but it eventually went away when I started high school and had other distractions.
When I was in college I realized I wasn't going crazy and found out what was happening was that I was getting panic attacks. That I wasn't actually going crazy.
Did some research on it, and learned to relax by meditating and breathing excercises. It really helped me when I found out that I was getting panic attacks and not going crazy.- that shits crazyquamb

detaching and observing seems to help by breaking the avoidance feedback loop anxiety thrives on

"1. acknowledge your having a panic attack

3. acknowledge that it's going to pass."Some good advice

After getting panic attacks, I've found that i've been more sensitive and afraid of social situations especially group situations. Today I hide in the ceiling.

Excercise.
Cures anger, anxiety and makes you feel good. Anytime I'm having a shitty day or stressing out from work I go skateboard or play golf or whatever and always come back with a clear head.

i get anxiety attacks when moving through the city. Too many people, too many sounds, too many smells. I often use to get nauseous. Now a days its a lot better. Started exercising, riding my bike in the city and breathing deeper. Breathing helps.
- I just walk around swingingceiling_cat

Well this summer has been extremely stressful, many people lost their jobs where I work and everyone is on edge afraid that we might be next. We have to take on the work of the fallen so our schedules are overbooked all day long and the last couple weeks have been overtime-ed out. Plus this has been one of the worst summers as far as weather goes over here, maybe only 5 sunny days, the rest are either raining or overcast. And on top of this I just got engaged to my gf over the weekend, instead of being super happy (which I am about this) these situations have made me stressed out and scared about the future, my mind wanders and I worry too much.
- maybe light therapy to help with the lack of Sun.Mal
- My bud has one of those SADS lights, I was thinking of getting that maybe.MSTRPLN
- and how lame is the term SADS. "I suffer from SADS" .. okMSTRPLN
- man no matter how hard it is you gotta look on the bright side of things. Do you got family, dont sacrafice your health because of worrying about your next paycheck.Iggyboo
- nerves to a paycheck. I mean even if you stay at that shit job learn to laugh it off. Ultimately if its the environment you have to confront it and make a choice.Iggyboo
- confront it and make a choice, many of us have been there at that point, sometimes a job can make you a bit off your level.Iggyboo
