    Sorry forgot to mention. Basically what anxiety is can be explained as follows:

    Your body is creating too much adrenalin that your mind doesn't know what to do with it.

    It's like being trapped in a park with a tiger and your mind doesn't know whether to fight or flight. And the more you fight it the more you feel like fleeing.

    You've got to be very careful at this point in your life, when you're depressed and anxious, because you could easily fall victim to cultists who prey on people in tough spots. Be especially mindful of Scientologists, Landmark Forum, Mormons, Seventh-Day Adventists, Jews for Jesus, and any other group with a ready-made PowerPoint presentation.

    In fact, if you can just avoid watching any PowerPoint presentations during this rough patch, you'll come out the other side just fine.

    i've always called this "getting the fear", after hunter thompson.

    only happens while coming up on MDMA or acid. i become extremely empathic and become overly-sensitive to feelings of negativity either from people or a given situation.

    two things help me get rid of it– acknowledging that it's only temporary and WILL pass, and a quick banishing ritual i learned in the OTO (a visualization exercise meant for "cleaning" a space of unwanted energies)

    one time i was experimenting with using caffeine along with mollies (pure MDMA, usually in caplets instead of pill form). i got the fear, and the caffeine threw it into overdrive. it was a very intense and terrifying situation. i lay frozen on the ground by a portapotty for a good half hour before i managed to work through it.

    so, avoid the fuck outta caffeine if you're having an attack

    seriously if you guys are really having issues out there you should try yoga. I know it sounds lame but I have seen it help people greatly deal with anxiety, but good luck you guys/gals dont suffer over a paycheck try to focus on the good things in life.

    been having bad anxiety lately... i can't sleep at all. my body is tired as fuck but my mind is still racing...

    im taking melatonin pills and theyre no help. i hate taking xanax cause i feel drowsy as fuck the next day. i dont smoke weed because if i start again i will become super unproductive and just sit on my ass and listen to music and play video games all day.

    so any suggestions on what to do? besides yoga?

    I've found that a good alternative to xanax is vitamin B3/niacinamide. It's similar to niacin but doesn't cause your skin to flush.

    It's also interesting that vitamin b deficiency has very similar symptoms as anxiety.

    • If I'm feeling anxious at all, I take a 250mg pill, or half of one. I think it's safe to take up to 2000mg a day.gimmejimmy

    i have been in this boat before too, i still get it from time to time. i often find myself really struggling to get a good nights sleep when i havent been productive during the day, its the need to be creative eating away, it seems feeding it with some mindless photoshop or photography helps.

    my anxiety was triggered a while ago after a particular event around the time i was studying for exams and was under a lot of pressure.

    you just have to be confident and have faith in yourself that you can get the work done in time or complete a difficult task or speak to the girl you like.

    some useful comments in this thread, impressed with the advice and how serious people can be when they are effected and they have something to share with others in a similar position to themselves.

    Mal was the first friend that helped me with my anxiety. He got to see me work though one of the worst situations of my life. Listen to his reasoning. It really is a great platform to get started with.

    I recommend reading "The Meaning Of Anxiety" by Rollo May (1950's-ish). Anxiety is a natural reaction for you to ask yourself suppressed emotions and internal unanswered questions. It's quite surprising the techniques you will teach yourself over time in order to adapt to our over-media society. High minded creatives are usually the ones that suffer the most. The reasoning = We see more about the world and it's inner workings more so than the general public. Because of this there is a feeling of disconnect when the reality is this is how everyone should be thinking.

    This is why we are sometimes referred to as visionaries. We are creating the visions of the future. It's a lot of weight. Hence the anxiety.

    For me I just feel everyone. Sometimes it can be overwhelming. Has taken me a good 3 years to master it to a level of finally finding self confidence in it.

    2) Start doing a combination of jumping jacks and military presses.

    3) Snort some electric cocaine.
