the best thing the west could do is to stay the hell away from there if this conflict escalates with say, Syria and Iran. Let them sort it out themselves.
The Israeli's damn well know they are part of the problem themselves. There is no reason to have any sense of empathy and sympathy.
I say choose for the suffocating way of neutralism.
Stay the hell out. No matter what. Even if it means the loss of some EU or US civillians there.

this conflict is perpetuated by isreal and the us for their own interests. Gaza is a ghetto forcibaly controlled by Isreal, they have the ability to respond violently to hamas or not, they have the ability to enforce a cease fire and what happens? this...again. the media's spin on it is also gross, I was just listening to a reporter going on about how the anger in 'arab cities' is of great concern to us intellegence and military, they're 'keeping an eye on it just in case they have to move in'...like there's no anger in the rest of the world and like the political emotions of a diverse range of millions of people is somehow the western world's business. Its arrogance and power mongering that is keeping the solutions from actually happening.
