The way i see it is theres a couple possible scenarios here. He's got home troubles and knows he can't just exactly walk out on his wife without effecting his career, or some deal like any other 70% of people relationships with cheating online but keeping security of a wife. Because he's a politician he should be better at hiding it, and making sure it doesn't get in the way of his job. And as citizens should know that its not that big of a deal. And perhaps not put politicians on that pressure pedestal of having to have fantasy perfect relationships. Or giving them privacy if theres divorces and fallouts.
Also of course he lied and denied it out of part shame/policial fallout/hope it would go away/he needed time to see if he could convince his wife... whatever the reasons they seem pretty normal and human like. And at least he admitted it. What scare me are the people who still deny with overwhelming evidence, and wont acknowledge it. What character it portrays to me is a person who thinks he can try to lie to have his cake and eat it too. Thinking to little of possible outcomes and jsut acting. Communications skills with avoiding and not dealing with problems. Those things. I look down on, but dont think it gives enough character flaw to be booted.
But eh thats just how i look at shit like this. And not too surprised because i find politics attracts these types.

The whole thing is like a mix of Shakespearian tragedy and a Larry David sitcom.
After having to endure being named "Weiner" his whole life, but still rising to the highest level of society, this guy torpedoes his career...by sending out a picture of his actual wiener. Yeah, there are/ will be a million jokes about it, but how can you not laugh at the absurdity on some level.
I just can't believe his complete stupidity in using Twitter direct messaging to do all this stuff. That meant that someone, even if it was just Twitter employees, was able to access all those messages.

I think that if you're the type of person who says "Hey, I think sending pictures of my junk via twitter to someone I don't know is a good idea and most likely consequence free" then you are not the type of person I would want with a hand in making decisions about the US economy, military or social safety net.

Let's take a step back though...none of what Weiner did was remotely as "bad" as Bill Clinton, getting blown and cigar fucking in the Oval Office. And Clinton is now a respected elder member of the global elite.
So I think these politicians should adopt some kind of Bill Clinton rule...just hold a press conference, tell everyone the truth about what you did but then say, well yes, I sent some 20 year old pictures of my erect penis, but it wasn't as bad as Bill Clinton, was it? Another thing to notice...Pelosi is immediately calling for an ethics investiagtion.
