    Good point.

"t casts the reactionary, ultraconservative politics of Arizona, Orange County, Utah, and Nevada in high relief to point out that the coyote population would outnumber the humans in the region if not for Big Government doing what private industry would not – elevate national, long term interests over short term profit."

CHART OF THE DAY: If Congress Does Nothing, The Deficit Will Disappear

    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.c…

Found this interesting. Turns out the existence of a deficit hinges on the need to extend the "temporary" Bush tax cuts indefinitely, along with preventing scheduled cuts to Medicare. Without taking action on those issues, and once the stimulus and various wars wind down, the government takes in as much money as it needs for its expenses right now.

GEORGE W. BUSH / Accomplishments as President.

    - I am the first President in U.S, history to enter office with a criminal record.
I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion
dollars per week. I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S.
treasury. I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history. I
set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12 – month
period. I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. I
set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. Stock
Market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and
that trend continues. I’m proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of
any administration in U.S. history. My “poorest millionaire”, Condoleezza Rice has
a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President. I am
the all-time U.S. and World record holder for receiving the most corporate
campaign contributions.. My largest lifetime campaign contributor , and one of my
best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in
U.S. history, Enron. My political party used Enron private jets and corporate
attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election
decision. I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against
investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the
Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest
corporate rip-offs in history. I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S.
history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was
revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

    - I changed U.S, policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government
    contracts.
-I appointed more convicted criminals to my administration than any President in
    U.S. history.
-I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the
history of the United States Government.
-I’ve broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.
-I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the
U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.
-I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.
    - I refused to allow inspector’s access to U.S. “prisoners of war” detainees and
thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention..
    - I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors
    (during the 2002 U.S. election)
-I set the record for the fewest numbers of press conferences of any President
    since the advent of television.
-I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After
taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure
    in U.S. history.
    - I garnered the most sympathy ever for the U.S. after the World Trade Center
attacks and less than a year later, made the U.S. the most hated country in the
world – the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.
    - I have set the all-time record for most people world-wide to simultaneously
protest me in public venues (15 million people) , shattering the record for
protests against any person in the history of mankind.
-I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive
attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the
will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world
    community.
-I have cut health benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits
for active duty troops and their families in wartime.

Old hard-copy i had stashed away from '03, and he got re-elected ffs

She's got an interesting strategy: talk first, find obscure facts to cover your incompetence later.

Now, the whole John Wayne/John Wayne Gacy gaff on the surface is minimal. Neither were actually born in Waterloo. John Wayne's parents lived there shortly before he was born (which was the obscure fact the BAchmann campaign used to cover the gaff).
What i wondered is what she was actually referring to. The quote was:
"I want them to know just like John Wayne is from Waterloo Iowa, that's the spirit I have too. It's embracing America. It's sacrificing for America."
This makes me wonder if she's talking about John Wayne or the characters he played in movies. Which prompted me to look up John Wayne, which led me to these two awesome quotes (from a 1971 Playboy magazine interview):
About the plight of the Native Americans
"I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them if that's what you're asking. Our so called stealing of this country was just a question of survival. There were great numbers of people who needed new land the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves...."

and this, regarding race relations: "I believe in white supremacy until blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don't believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people."

The funniest thing is that the kid working the booth has a FUBU shirt on! hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
FUBU is a clothing company. It includes casual wear, sports wear, a suit collection, eyewear, belts, and shoes for the African-American community in the sense of economic investment but not to be exclusively worn by African Americans. The name is sometimes considered a backronym for "For Us By Us", implying the product line was produced for a primarily African-American market. The original meaning of FUBU was "Five Urban Brothers United," but the "For us, by us" line later took root as the clothing line expanded.

"The revelations put Murdoch's takeover of British broadcaster BskyB in jeopardy. The deal wasapproved last week by British regulator Ofcom, but former deputy prime miniter John Prescott (whose phone was among those hacked) has already written to OfCom asking that the deal, which was expected to take place next week, be blocked over concerns that Murdoch and his board of directors are not "fit and proper people."

It's kabuki theater. Love to see such an opinionated guy like deathboy fall for it.

During the Bush administration, when a budget surplus tuned to deficit and debt piled up, Republican leaders in Congress voted to raise the debt ceiling 5 times, increasing the limit nearly $4 trillion. We’re talking about Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl. Combined, they voted 19 times for a debt ceiling increase without complaint or conditions.

June 2002: Congress approves a $450 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $6.4 trillion. McConnell, Boehner, and Cantor vote “yea”, Kyl votes “nay.”

May 2003: Congress approves a $900 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $7.384 trillion. All four approve.

November 2004: Congress approves an $800 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $8.1 trillion. All four approve.

March 2006: Congress approves a $781 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $8.965 trillion. All four approve.

September 2007: Congress approves an $850 billion increase, raising the debt limit to $9.815 trillion. All four approve.

So raising the debt ceiling to kill muslims is a fucking ok. Got it. Check.

Furthermore, WTF? Why should there be any compromise on this issue. The US debt is guaranteed in two - TWO - sections of the US Constitution - in Article 1 of the original document and again clearly in the 14th Amendment (section 4). This "debt ceiling" is frankly unconstitutional - it's a Congressional restriction not grounded in the Constitution.

All Obama has to say is "No, fuck you. If you guys won't get your shit together I will use the power of the Executive to carry out the law as outlined in the Constitution and make sure US debts are backed by the full faith and credit of the US." and order the Treasury to do what it needs to do. If the Republicans want to bitch about it they can take it to the courts where they will certainly lose. Congressional restrictions don't trump the Constitution. Of course, with the Roberts court...

Anyway, it's all fucking bullshit. Obama is an utter sellout. He's Herbert Hoover meets Ronald Reagen. He's giving the Republican dicks everything they ever wanted - a roll back of the New Deal. Yet they snicker and call him "socialist" or whatever. Obama is more Bush than Bush. Fucking neoconservative asshole in sheep's clothing.

    hey blue.

Or are u suggesting i fell for the whole reps/dems game. the entitlements vs defense thing? Like the two parties arguing who gets to spend thing? the its right when i do it but wrong when u do. That whole party vibe?

Let me break down the thought process for you.
First of all seeing the graph showing spending increases from two parties drew a lot of suspicion. First of all how is the measurement done to measure both party votes. Simple majority, 2/3s... how is exactly is data quantified. Votes have to be across parties, and how about policies in place that span time iinto different party majority intervals. Who is credited with things of that nature. and further more what purpose does it serve to be quantified by party and not in how money is spent. the purpose of it seems to obviously be to sway party sides. Easy enough but than thought fuck it lets generalize and go with it. So taking the graph at face value i asked myself exactly what kind of expenditures lead to such a high republican increase. And expenditures assumign and not loss revenue hypotheticals. So decided to check defense vs entitlements. Found that graph showing national defense vs entitlements. Interesting i would have thought defense to be higher. Pretty much where i stopped since that growth seemed insane compared to the out of control war effort spending. Looked like numero uno problem to be fixed.

So if that clears up how i thought about it and i still got trapped in something let me know. I do admit, i did only a few queries and have no idea how to even check the numbers on the graph i showed. One of the biggest reasons i hate graphs and statistics. I think theyre simply controlled markets to produce the numbers that serve the creators intentions the best. And few creators motives are based on truth.

And as far as constitution stuff goes u got me there i'll have to take your word for it. Not to versed in that stuff. I dont get to caught up in the rigamaroll of law. to quote aristotle "I have gained this by philosophy: that I do without being commanded what others do only from fear of the law." thats basically the way i function, just reason shit out and constantly check and test myself.

AND YES FUCK THE NEW DEAL. All that new deal stuff was offer stuff and ignored the parts about at the expense of whom. Highly unconstitutional in spirit. However i dont think obama is giving in. I think his healthcare will need the excess funds. the guys smart enough to know how to sell but not smart enough to know what it is hes selling or its effects, besides a note in a history book of good deeds and selfish valiantry trying to help the the smallest of the small fry. (ignoring the question of why they couldnt help themselves and at whos cost did he HELP them). but there my rant for the night
