It's about time our leaders started listening to scientists instead of the rowdy cable-watching rednecks:
UNITED NATIONS — China laid down a significant plan for curbing greenhouse gases on Tuesday, outlining ambitious goals of planting enough forest to cover an area the size of Norway and generating 15 percent of its energy needs from renewable sources within a decade... Obama has announced a target of returning to 1990 levels of greenhouse emissions by 2020, but action awaits Congress passing legislation to make those goals the law of the land.
Even with the economic slowdown, the dangers of climate-altering heat waves, droughts, melting glaciers, loss of the Greenland ice sheet and other calamities are fast approaching, said Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change... "The science leaves us with no room for inaction now," he said.
Pachauri said major greenhouse gas cuts must be made by 2015 to avoid many of these dangers.
- its good to be clean but if tis to expensive, well then its not feaseable, or population control, since pop growth is major cause********
- major cause********
- You should learn to write and form sentences correctly.DrBombay
- Dealing with the effects afterward are much more expensive than prevention.joeth
- hence number one thing to do is focus on populations********
- "Man cannot destroy the Earth, only God can do that."-Rep. Shimkus... this won't be easy.IRNlun6
- Focus on populations? What are you suggesting here?IRNlun6
- yea touchy subject for most. but our pop growth has to slow down, and be more managebale. more peopel more greenhouse gases,********
- less resources to such up Co2, healthcare costs is a good natural helper to control growth.********
- id rather let the law of nature/free economics help curb the pop, but soemday im afraid we will need to control it********
- You are a confused individual.DrBombay
- I agree that we will need to address population soon, but right now...joeth
- shifting to clean and renewable energy deserves more or our attention.joeth
- Also, smart urban planning designed for growth will help in dealing with population. (closer cities, less car-oriented)joeth
- That's a pretty radical proposal that I think you would agree would be met with much resistance.IRNlun6
- < response to deathboyIRNlun6
- yea a lot can be done, just primary cause is population. lot of ppl get caught up in the greenthink and u get corn ethanol.********
- ethanol. the good intentions haev to be thought out thats all********

DrBombay/theblueone would hate to see there current news stations go because then they wouldn't have anyone to rely on to form their opinions for them..... garble all u want, there is no reason for a bailout of any dying industry or business. its methods and size have lead to such an outcome, and its ran its course. its a gay socialist thought, that will only hurt progress. if u personally want to fund any news network u like, go for it i wont stop you.
and funding of such terrible things can be discussed when the countries budget is in the black, and we have a surplus. all i hear is more and more spending and larger government overhead costs..... ridiculous.
- Gay socialist? wow. I hope you get herpes on your face.DrBombay
- Free Market FundieMimio

- All markets are manipulated.DrBombay
- and can only be manipulated by gov influence. less gov less market manipulation.********
- You've confused me with someone who watches TV.TheBlueOne
- name a market on the planet that has not been manipulated? You live in this fantasy ayn rand world.DrBombay
- i didnt suggest markets go unmanipulated. i said less gov power = less manipulation.********
- and less manipulation = less drastic bubbles, more freedom, more self balancing.********
- its common sense. is it impossible..right now yes. To many small minded people,********
- impossible to get started but not impossible to change...hmm improbable is a better word********
- u cant lay out the necessary change over a century. to many variables, u need independant capable minds to adapt.********
- you live in a fantasy world.DrBombay

Seriously, do you conservative retards just not read a fucking thing I say because you've already put me in a box? I post notes critical of Maddow, Olberman and MSNBC and you guys come back with, "theblueone would hate to see there current news stations go because then they wouldn't have anyone to rely on to form their opinions for them".
I don't even watch fucking TV news. I read books and listen to primary interviews. MSNBC is just as bad as Fox as CNN...I sad that on the last page, but you're somehow convinced that I would be distressed about a TV program?
You are retarded.
I say and post links to criticisms of Obama and you guys come back "YOU OBAMA LOVER!"
Seriously?
And this is why I don't give a flying fuck about this thread anymore or anything that gets discussed here because it's fucking pointless. No matter what is said it comes back to you going "socialist, commie, liberal, real america, free market blah blah garble garble garble..."
Waste of fucking time.
- <- even posting this is a waste of time.TheBlueOne
- if i find something interesting u post ill read. i dont care about criticism of people, just ideas.********
- that obama podcast i didnt checkout and i explained why. had a high percentage of waste of time. busy guy.********
- So you only care about ideas, but don't have time for them. Got it. You keep rocking it.TheBlueOne
- is it not commentary based on yes obama is not doing good but the party is the right one?********
- its not your fault its the statement made by the goon which ruined it for me, and gav eme an idea of what to expect********
- post the gist if u want. ill read it, if the gist is good i may be enitced to hear the rest********
- "is it not commentary based on yes obama is not doing good but the party is the right one?" I dunno why don't you listen to you fuckTheBlueOne
- it you fuck. Oh, you're not used to learning stuff, just regurgitating bullshit.TheBlueOne

Utility giant Pacific Gas & Electric resigns from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce over the climate change issue.
PG& E Chairman and Chief Executive Peter Darbee wrote that company employees "find it dismaying that the Chamber neglects the indisputable fact that a decisive majority of experts have said the data on global warming are compelling and point to a threat that cannot be ignored."
"An intellectually honest argument over the best policy response to the challenges of climate change is one thing; disingenuous attempts to diminish or distort the reality of these challenges is quite another," PG&E CEO Peter Darbee wrote to the Chambers, according to the company.
- im on the fence of climAte change. i know we create change, but i dont know to what extent, and what is natural, or cosmic.********

Joeth, you're not serious right? If you believe the Chinese give a fuck about keeping the planet clean, you're in serious need of an education dude. Please, get a fucking clue.

Also, deathboy, keep it up. These Obama loving idiots around here will never yield because they are entitled, sliver spoon sucking idiots, who's mommies and daddies didn't have enough time for them, to teach them right from wrong while they grew up.
Bottom line is, Obama is a failure, and will go down as huge failure. His policies are futile and destructive. The American people know it.

Speaking of "entitled, sliver spoon sucking idiots, who's mommies and daddies didn't have enough time for them.." why, here's a captain of American industry who has it all figured out:
"Coca-Cola Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Muhtar Kent said the idea of a federal tax on soft drinks, under consideration by the U.S. Congress and President Barack Obama, is “outrageous.”
“I have never seen it work where a government tells people what to eat and what to drink,” Kent said today, responding to an audience question at the Rotary Club of Atlanta. “If it worked, the Soviet Union would still be around.”
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/ne…
Hey, Mr. Coca-Cola Kent, let's see..your product is what? Water and corn syrup sweetner? Our government doesn’t tell people what to drink – although “suggestions” abound in the form of dietary guidelines and public health campaigns – but it sure as hell has spent the last century telling them what to grow. Namely corn. Metric shitloads of corn. The Federal government pays people to grow corn. It pays people not to grow corn. It pays people to think about growing corn. No person or entity has benefited more from this legislatively-mandated glut of cheap corn than the soft drink industry dominated by Mr. Kent’s company. The pro-corn policy (Cornservative policy? Yes, I like that better.) has created an entire industry of chemists and biologists dedicated to finding some way to use all this shit that Congress pays farmers to grow.
You know what country that sounds like? The Soviet Union to me. Or maybe, I dunno, China maybe? Ah, but you Mr. Kent insist that it's some sort of "magical free market beanstalk".
But you and the rest of the angry mob keep insisting through the media you bought and own that "socialism" is bad and that people who do it will rape our daughters or something. You just do that.
- yes hypocritical correct? and such ppl are used to spin the idea of free markets as evil thinking********
- but of course it takes character to turn down a wrongful benefit, its easy to complain when that benefactor********
- turns against u. terrible people for sure. but no gov incentives no such problems********
- ill take life over the whims of the godlike giveth and taketh away hand of gov********
- however i still stand by the exec's complaints, its wrong to tax there product. fight my emotions to see him get what he deserves********
- he deserves, in order of what is right. then place myself in his shoes.********
- and see its easy to go along with something u know is wrong, while maintaining the denial of the reversal of such power********
- power. its hard not to be corrupted especially if that means losing business, employees and such********
- because if u dont take the backwards offer someone else will. and will leave u to rot********
- such is the logic and corruption of todays men.********

@ deathboy "curious how bush/reagan sank the country into debt exactly?"
Your ignorance is hilarious. Why do you think the U.S. is deep in debt? Did Obama do it all in six months?
- i think he's been in office about 9 months now... so... the answer to your Q is 'no'. :DPonyBoy
- He only had time to destroy 2/3 of the country in 6 months, huh?;)ukit
- just asking how bush/reagan did so. lots of people seem to be catalysts amongst both parties. that blanket statement attacking one side with no********
