Well one thing is clear...that DHS report about "right wing extremists" that everyone got into such a tussle about...wasn't BS at all, it was dead on.

  • designbot0

"Did you know that the suspect that MURDERED this medical doctor suffered from mental illness in the past. He was also a member of an anti american anti government Freeman group and was arrested for having a bomb in his car in '96. I wonder what you right wing wackos would have thought if he would have blown up a federal building. That's right you would have called him a TERRORIST but now that he's targeting medical doctors he's your hero? Get the fuck out of the politics thread and start a new thread called RELIGIOUS RIGHT or BLOGGERS FOR BABIES if you want to argue these facts anymore."

fooler, NOT A single person in here was defending the murderer in this case. So what are you on about? Are you so quick to anger that you don't even read the responses and just fly off the handle?

And the fact that you attribute these things that never even took place to the "RELIGIOUS RIGHT" shows your extreme bias.

    • Well, actually GetRefresh certainly was defending himukit
    • this guy was obviously a right wing extremist, though. cmon.DrBombay
    • Didn't read much about it honestly other than a quick article. Nobody was even talking about this was my point.designbot
    • Wouldn't doubt at all if he was an extremist. Normal people don't kill other people in church.designbot

Let's move on and discuss how this administration is ruining the once formidable, US auto industry, shall we?

    US Gov:
    Owns 60%

    Canada (that's right, fucking Canada):
    Owns 12%

    The United Auto Workers Union:
Got everything they wanted (they gave concessions my hairy ass)

    Legitimate investors and bond holders:
    Got fucked

Furthermore, $40 Billion invested to save 50,000 jobs? What the fuck? Oh, and let's go ahead and close a bunch of dealerships. Fuck those jobs and the breadth of businesses, large to small that they support. Oh, but "Obama" doesn't want to be in the auto business, BUT 10 of 12 board members were appointed by this administration?

And did you know, that Obama's "Car Czar" is a 31 year old, silver-spoon sucking auto-industry-know-nothing, calling many of these shots?

I recently watched a life-long, respected dealership owner who got his shit SHUT DOWN. Yes, he was pissed. Very fucking pissed. And smart too.

This auto bailout is just another example of Obama's naivete, that will certainly be coming back to bite him. It's just a matter of time... tick, tock, tick, tock...

    • I'd like to hit you across your face with a cue ball in a sock.DrBombay
    • I bet if this Bush's plan you'd be praising him saving the US auto Industry.fooler2

Hey Bonseff, in case you missed my reply on the previous page....

BonSeff, I don't understand what you are saying. I always remain respectful despite disagreeing. You on the other hand, instead of backing up your view with evidence seem to resort to name calling. Why can you not see that there are different views than your own? Perhaps you could even learn if you opened your mind a bit. I can assure you, that even though I hold strong to certain values I always give a listening ear to the other side. At the very least I can say "I understand where you are coming from, even though I disagree". My reason for discussing these topics is not that I wish you to fold to my view, but rather that you (and everyone else) can at least see the other side.

    • i know you don't know what i am sayingBonSeff
    • Okay brother, well it may not be possible to make blind eyes see. Unless perhaps you take off that front.designbot
    • at what point did i call you a name?BonSeff

    • that wasn't directed at you, but whatev's i am sick of christians writing policy, so fuck itBonSeff
    • Okay well, I know in the past you have at least told me to F-off. Anyway, I don't think you real problem is with true Christians.designbot
    • you may disagree on policies, but remember the same Christians you seem to hate are the ones running shelters/feeding the hungry etc.designbot

Ironically this is the form of terrorism that The Department of Homeland Security warned law enforcement officials about. The memo that got heavily criticized by the right and ironically a form of terror that is now being defended or excused by many on the right.

    • say that to a vet.zenmasterfoo
    • < WTF?
      ********
    • say what to a vet? that extremist anti-abortionists are a terror threat?IRNlun6
    • Yeah I don't follow that either.DrBombay
    • the memo was directed and had verbiage directed at vets. read the paper.zenmasterfoo
    • are you a vet?fooler2

^Did the memo help?? Not sure what was enacted as a result, but couldn't one argue that it didn't work?

    • Apparently not. My point was that is was warned about and heavily criticized. Just an observation...IRNlun6

This would only be a valid argument if this killer was actually stopped as a result of the "extremist" memo.

I don't at all defend murder or murderers. Therefore, I cannot defend the killers, on either side. Capiche???

When the memo came out, many on the right, including in this thread, said is was BS and called for Napolitano to step down. All for predicting what actually happened.

    • yup, ukit you don't expect him to admit that do you?DrBombay

I am also curious as to whether those of you who condone the Republican approach to national security think we should waterboard the guy responsible for Tiller's death.

He clearly fits the definition of "terrorist" (violence in order to promote a political aim), and was part of a larger network of similar-minded extremists (according to neighbors he held meetings of anti-abortion extremists in his home). There's no way to say for sure whether other acts may be planned (so the "ticking time bomb" case is applicable). So, to waterboard or not? Or do we only waterboard Muslim terrorists?

    • Why waterboard him. He's already guilty!!!
      ukit IQ= -69
      ********
    • that's BS and an approach that's not part of this discussion. Come on dude.zenmasterfoo

I still think it's BS ukit. What did it accomplish? This event still took place right?

Similarly to the the lock-down we had airports as a result of 911...and the instituting of the TSA. I see all these things as being overly paranoid and an infringement on our constitutional rights. I am never for giving up rights for a false sense of security. No thanks.

Ukit, if the guy who killed Tiller was instead found to be a terrorist, and plotting to kill scores of Americans, and I was President, my order would be... "go 24 on his ass". Of course, as in 24, the order would be covert. HOWEVER, he wasn't. He already confessed. No 24-like action required. Mute point. Next >

    • He used violence for a political purpose. He is the definition of a terrorist.IRNlun6

You are quite possibly the most unintelligent person I have ever encountered here.

I totally see you as one of those guys that uses phrases incorrectly, like "could care less" instead of "Couldn't care less"...

"I am posed to" instead of "I am supposed to" etc.

"mute point" instead of "moot point"

"I still think it's BS ukit. What did it accomplish? This event still took place right?"

What kind of argument is that?

People like you guys specifically went off the deep end because the memo mentioned that right wingers motivated by causes like abortion might commit violent acts. As though that was such a stretch considering the apocalyptic rhetoric coming from Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly etc. ever since the election of a Democrat.

Is the government going to be able to stop every single thing that happens out there? Of course not. But the idea that because they can't, they shouldn't release a memo urging people including local law enforcement to be vigilant, is absurd.

    • Yeah I wasn't really sure what DB meant by that exactly.DrBombay

^ They were calling out United States War Veterans, Obama-tard.

  • designbot0

So then if I follow your argument to it's natural conclusion. Were you in favor of Bush and his post 911 tactics including instituting the TSA? Do you feel safer as a result of these measures?

To even insinuate that this is a result of the "apocalyptic rhetoric coming from Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly etc" is also pretty crazy.

Law enforcement should always be looking for extremists no question, why a special memo? Could police be then profiling people based on certain characteristics? Especially like GR said, what about vets?...this is no different than the paranoia that took place with Bush and how every Muslim was suddenly seen as a terrorist. We all saw the result of that.

Simply put, I am ALWAYS in favor of freedom. If I see anything that looks like it may take away or infringe on our constitutional rights, I'm opposed. I never favor "security" over freedom, and you shouldn't either.
