So then if I follow your argument to it's natural conclusion. Were you in favor of Bush and his post 911 tactics including instituting the TSA? Do you feel safer as a result of these measures?
To even insinuate that this is a result of the "apocalyptic rhetoric coming from Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly etc" is also pretty crazy.
Law enforcement should always be looking for extremists no question, why a special memo? Could police be then profiling people based on certain characteristics? Especially like GR said, what about vets?...this is no different than the paranoia that took place with Bush and how every Muslim was suddenly seen as a terrorist. We all saw the result of that.
Simply put, I am ALWAYS in favor of freedom. If I see anything that looks like it may take away or infringe on our constitutional rights, I'm opposed. I never favor "security" over freedom, and you shouldn't either.
